Cheers Duncan it was the gear leaver partialy siezed on footpeg shaft.
stripping cleaning and greasing has cured the problem.
Zooks gearbox rep is intact. my maintenance skills are not. Embarrassed

I have now renewed the clutch fluid as you first suggested [i assumed this was done when clutch was replaced.not so] It has made a big difference.

The Hydraulic clutch on my Bandit 1200 operates in the last 1/4" of travel farthest from handlebars is this a sign of wear and the plates need replacing or can it be adjusted by renewing the fluid.
