Its not actually that bad now I've had a decent look. The scuffed pillion peg hanger can be sorted with a bit of touch up paint. The engine case isn't too bad either and can be easily replaced when I come to sell the bike as it's only the clutch cover which shouldn't be too pricey. The slightly more annoying thing is the scuffed plastics but there must be some way of polishing plastic to get it looking decent - any ideas?

unlucky johnny... Sad but then your bike is designed partly to accept the odd fall here and there eh? at least you didn't have fairings smashing all over the place Very Happy

as for the plastics.. your best bet is probably to get it resprayed on the affected areas, al has a similar job to do on the rear of his new KTM where he's scratched his gate

It turns out that a brand new front mudguard is only £15 anyway. I'll probably leave it for now and get a new one for the summer. You're right about the bike holding up well to a drop, it's just annoying that it was something as dull as while washing it and not something a bit more dramatic. Can't wait to see Al's, would have popped down today, but I feel rough as a badgers @rse so it will have to wait till the new year.

Mad My brother bought his son a second hand scooter as he is 16, it sailed through the MOT. The tester told him the steering head bearings need tightening. I don't mind a tester being lenient, but the bearings were loose as sh*t. Just looking with an inspection lamp I saw the dust cover was missing along with half of the bearings. To top it all there was a grating sound from the back wheel, pads were down to the metal.

Quick update: Got busy with the touch up paint on the pillion footrest hanger and rear brake lever so they are sorted. Ordered £25 worth of plastic handguard and front mudguard. So in about a week or so the bike should be as good as new (apart from a little sctatch in the clutch cover). Very Happy If only it was always this simple. Confused

Sitting in a jam today, pull over to let a Met police bike pass only for the silly cow in front to stay put, when it starts to move he pulls up along side me smiles and says thanks then pulls off, gets to the silly cows back wheel only for her to do a u turn which would have taken a lesser rider off!!

she didnt even know he was there!
