Was anyone considering going to The Main Event?

I've never been before but kinda fancy it ...However, you have to buy tickets in advance by the 19th May and I don't know anyone else who is going....

Crying or Very sad

(£22 for the day on the Sunday, or £39 for Sunday/BH Monday inc camping)

Question

Sad ...Nobody else tempted??

At first I thought, "....OK, maybe its not all that good?!" ...but had another peep at the website and ...I still think that it looks like fun....

If you know better - please, disillusion me before I waste my pennies....

Would love to go but we are "financially stressed" at the moment. Hence I am limited to local rides to free places with nice views AND I bring my own sandwiches. Smile

Been there, done that, know what you mean ...you'll have to come over to mine for a burger sometime (...being a girl, I'm not allowed to 'man' the BBQ - you have to do-it-yourself!)

(Have you ever been to Bewl Water? - just south of Tunbridge Wells - very nice picnic venue ....and cars welcome, too.... Smile )

*rolls up sleeves....*

First went to Santa Pod in 1970....... Shocked
Love drag racing......................................change that line and you're dead
Went to almost every meeting from then on for many years.
Went last year, and it was the first meeting all year to be rained off..... gonna cry
The queues were horrendous, so if I go again, it will definitely be on two wheels.

Would really love to go to this, but we're off to France the week after, so having to mind the pennies. Also, "she who must be obeyed" would undoubtedly not take too kindly to me dissappearing off YET AGAIN WITH YOUR MOTORCYCLING MATES...... Shocked Shocked

Sad Didn't manage to find anyone else who wanted to (or could) go ...and didn't buy an advance ticket 'cos I thought it might be a bit drab if I ended up there on my own in the rain!! ...Now looks like the weather may pick up for the day ..but I think £27 (on-the-gate price) is, maybe, a bit pricey ...Maybe next year...??!

Very Happy

Maybe next year indeed Va Va, however tomorrow I am going to exciting Box Hill to desport myself in the sun, taste some of Ryka's finest comestibles and partake of thier hot coffee bean infusions......

I'll be there around 930ish and stay until 1030....

There were at least 6 of us at Box from 09.15 to 09.45ish. You should have taken a chance and come and said hello. Random perhaps, but that is what I did last year.

This morning was followed by a relaxing pootle to Brighton and back.
