a mate's dad used to take a blind man out on a tandem. Fantastic act of generoursity I always thought to give the chance to someone to cycle who would never be able to otherwise

New tyres and brake pads on ma 'blade. These Metzler Racetecs may be no good in the wet, but I love the profile.

Proper test coming up in a couple of weeks.

There was loads of life left in them, but I do not trust them at the speeds the fast group plays in.

Looking at the tyre edges from my last day, I was right on the limit of the tyres, front and rear and need more grip, so the Corsa IIIs had to go. Sadly Pirelli do not do a 190/50 Super Corsa and therefore I was pushed into Metzler. I did try the 190/55 on my Gixxer 1000 but it destroyed the rear of the lower panel where it rubbed badly and I had to remove the hugger.

I also tend to change my tyres after two / three trackdays or 2000 miles whether they need to be or not. The issue as I see it is not so much the miles but the heat cycles from 6-7 sessions per day on the track. Embarrassed
