gonna get shot down I know but I did test ride a bandit today wearing a pair of shorts.
my choice
but don't get me wrong if I go out on the R6 or R1 then I am in full leathers, even normal commuting when I used to ride to work i wore my kevlar gear. Do sometimes only have shorts, t shirt or jeans if I'm on the scooter locally though _________________ The Stevie Wonder of rideouts!

Exactamondo... x 2 (is that as bad as +1? )
It is personal choice, and of course the safest thing to do is not crash in the first place
Interestingly enough, French Gendarmes are often seen riding round wearing short sleeved shirts etc, perhaps carrying a gun reduces SMIDSY's?!!
Not sure exactly what kit our boys in blue wear, but i would imagine that there's a fairly stringent Health & Safety policy that requires them to wear the protective clothing provided. _________________

Always used to be custom made leathers as I remember. BKS I believe. Dunno what they do now though. What with cut backs and all that. _________________ The lunatics have finally taken over the asylum |

an individual choice choice, indeed and a good micro view: I refer to my earlier post with a macro view: taking up NHS time and ones friends family etc |

obviously its always a bimble at a very sedate speed in comparison to a normal boxhill wobblers |
Picture the scene.......
You're bimbling along into town at 25mph, watching the pretty girls in their skimpy summer things, when all of a sudden......................................CRASH
A SMIDSY pulls out of a side turning, your bike ends up in his drivers door, and you're down the road with no skin left.
Hmmmm, still sound like a good idea to wear jeans?.........................................
For all our lady readers, substitute "BUILDERS" for "pretty girls" above.........................
BTW, I voted for option 5 | like not wearing gloves in france |

Probably about as relevant as "la plume de ma tante" just a touch more up-market - that or it's the only bit of French he knows! |

I wear jeans in the warm weather, but never without the leg/knee armour strapped on.
Got caught out in my early days when wearing tracksuit trousers and nearly lost my kneecap and fecked the joint in a high side incident. It ain't funny when you get up to check your bike is ok and look down to see a hole where your right kneecap should of been!
As for the wet or cold weather I used to wear propper gortex armoured trousers. |
