I was just wondering, is there a way that the site can have a twitter / facebook feed for realtime comments of the forum to subscribe and contribute to while we are out & about by using our Mobile Phones?.
And would anyone use it? _________________ Opinions are like assholes...... Ahhh Fcuk it - YOUR WRONG !!!

Not being funny!
But from a UX (User Experience) POV - why on earth would you want that.
At BHF you sign in for info, spam, and general chat - you want that as a service??? _________________ If the phone doesn’t ring, it’s me... |

Im thinking it might be useful an "in addition to" and not as an "instead of".
I just think it might be an idea to put a mobile element to the site so that when we are out an about we can still pass messages like "police with Speed Guns on the A23" or "Im at Boxhill Now - anyone close engough to come for a coffee".
I found a Boxhill users group on Facebook and was just thinking that people could join that group and use twitter to update the wall on the facebook group. Could be used for more spur of the moment meets & stuff _________________ Opinions are like assholes...... Ahhh Fcuk it - YOUR WRONG !!!

I do all my twittering on here, if it were to be the case to have a twitter feed, then perhaps just one forum area, so that things like the being out etc could be posted there, strictly moderated to keep the spam off _________________

I've used the normal BHF website from my mobile browser several times with no problems. _________________ It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. - Douglas Adams.

An interesting thought.
On Saturday, I was asking people if they had looked at the forum that morning to see if anyone had posted they were coming / cancelling. I did not think of looking at the blackberry.
I guess that most 'phones are set for calls only not data?
Although I do not use Faceache or Twatter and do not know how they work, my concern would be another channel which could remove conversation / discussion from here. |

Like you Im very much a N00b as far as twitter goes but it seems simple enough (even for me ). far as I can tell, you set up an account and choose who else on twitter you want to follow.
When they put a messaeg up - no longer than a sentance e.g. "I'm off to Boxhill - anyone else coming?" everyone who is following you is copied in on the message.
Its not really set up for the long conversations that happen on the forum so cant really see it detracting from what is said here. (And defo don't want to see that happen).
Cant say much about phones and the data but most phones these days have some way of accessing the internet and so would be able to send / receive the small amount of data that twitter would use.
Saying that - I could be talking complete Bollox - I think Photo chick knows a lot more than me about it. _________________ Opinions are like assholes...... Ahhh Fcuk it - YOUR WRONG !!!
