Is a Box Hill Picnic of interest to you? |
No, the BBQs etc already achieve the purpose |

9 yesses is not yet enough so this will run for 10 days and will come to a conclusion then.
Boudicas and Phoenix, thanks for the offer to help and may well take you up on that. I would like a female involved too so that we include their thoughts and wishes (such as how much washing up liquid do we need to bring, is there a place to plug in an ironing board () | I can help! But what numpty would bring washing up to a picnic?
So, boys playing volleyball in mankinis? _________________

I'm up for this. Happy to help (dis)organise it too.
Have you found a field yet? I have a friend who has a farm not far from Box (circular route???) who may well be willing to rent out a field to us for a nominal sum... should I give them a call and find out?
There's a butcher in Outwood who will supply a hog roast and come cook it and carve for you on site - so no-one has to man (or woman) the barbecue. Dunno what he charges though. |

Miss G, that would be superb. Yes please ask about the field. The hog roast is a good idea but at £ 500 to £700 may be too much.
I need to start looking at this properly. It seems there will be good support already. |

I know a couple of people in the catering industry. I could have a chat with them if you like, see if they're willing to cut us a deal? |

This is still being worked on. A couple of feelers are out for a suitable venue and I may have a band lined up, a cover band of mixed styles but may work.
B-S, any news on the catering?
If that does not work, I am now thinking that people should each bring food and drink along that can be shared so that costs are kept right down.
A portaloo may be a good idea too. Does anyone have (legal ) access to one or two of the over a weekend?
The downside being that this will likely leak into September and I may not be around then. I may need someone(s) to run things on the day if that is the case. |

Would love to join in but limited availability this side of mid-September. Only got two free Saturdays and I'll need to use one of those to get my bike serviced.
Great idea, Balloo. If it goes well, why not make it an annual event? |

This is the official website for the Countryside Code and maps of Open Access land in England.
http://countrysideaccess.gov.uk/csa2/content/view/full/75
The site contains ideas for what you can do in the countryside, educational resources for teachers and group leaders, maps, local walks in your area, a Countryside Directory, details of the new right of access to Access Land, commonly known as the 'right to roam', and lots more.... _________________ Seguy il tuo corso el lashi di lagente

Think that would be the easiest and would then ensure everyone's tastes are catered for. _________________ We are all born mad. Some remain so. ~ Samuel Beckett 1906-1989 |

Yeah bring your own, it'll be like a school trip, some people will have eaten theirs before they leave boxhill car park and the rest will swap it for something better or a look up on the girls skirts when we reach our destination Or was that just my school _________________ Anything you say may be taken down and used as evidence in a court of law, or boxhill forum!!
