So, I now have a garage, all my "junk" has been moved across and I really can't decide what to do.
Do I scratch an itch? Clean the bike? Or try out my mechanical (in)expertise? _________________ You start the game of life with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience. The objective is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck.

Where was the "fit stabilisers" option.
If I were you, I'd clean the bike and ride it.
From my memory of your various bike engine faults, they are likely to require a complete strip down to fix the faults (like the gearbox fault on one of them). This will require at the very least, rocker gasket, head gasket as well as perhaps gasket between the crank cases as you're likely to have to split. them - probably £250 worth of gaskets and sundries...
Unless you have a large clean bench to work on, and some experience of working on engines, a decent torque wrench and the relevant settings I would leave the engines for another day. _________________

Unfortunately it's going to be clean OR ride. Cleaning it ain't gonna be a 5 minute job.

Looks like cleaning/maintenance followed by a short ride if I still have the time and the inclination.
Should have me well prepared for the ride on Sunday. _________________ You start the game of life with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience. The objective is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck.

I am so tempted to edit the poll to add that option _________________
