M.O.T time came to pass.

even had a blind MOT tester who commented on how nice it is to see a nicely kept R1.

i assume he was talking about mine, but i thought he might have just been shooting the breeze.

Careful Wivvy, you should keep it as the low mileage classic that it is. Smile

Engine out of the pan. 'New' gearbox installed and engine refitted... Apart from one mounting bolt that sheared and needs to be drilled out. Bugger. Big thanks to summerman and miss v for the extra pairs of hands. Much appreciated Cool

Getting on the 14 on drying roads with the mighty one and A.N.other
new suspender set up ( albeit home job) and discovering some of the 14s quirks and abilities ....right foot peg grounded ....chicken strips reduced to pretty much the same as i had on the bandit and THE BRAKES Shocked ..wow what a difference braided lines have made.
Udimore bends disposed of smoothly and then camber attacked to give the thing a work out ........after a few months of wondering if i had made a mistake what with shit handling and poor fuelling ....i now love this beast.

I feel like I'm getting my mojo back a little. Had a great ride today and the thing can go round corners after all Laughing . Mind you, a decent suspension setup and good tyres have probably made a significant difference, but I think it was mainly my superior motorcycle handling skills and bravery Razz .

And wasn't the weather lovely Weather sunny .

More air in my rear tyre (but still need to change the fork oil Embarrassed) made the handling better for some major hoonage and advice.

Today was unquestionably some of the best riding I have done yet, and (I'm ashamed to say) the worst moment to date - one seriously misjudged overtake on the way home Hair Raising . My backside hurts from spending so long on the bike today and my face hurts from grinning like a loon for the best part of 160 miles.

Soooooo good to finally see the sun, dry roads, and start to enjoy riding again.

Bike shiny and clean now - and I'm still grinning Laughing.

great company too xxx
