Of greater pissedoffness is the fact that my Boiler was "fixed" yesterday, yet it's broken again, same fault. Pisses me off as I could fix it, but it's apparently/allegedly illegal for me to do so because I'm just a fuckwit, not a gas safe registered fuckwit like the hamfisted nobjockey who "fixed" it yesterday.

Conservative volunteers posing as polling station staff to try and swing votes. Gives a good idea of what democracy means to the tories. This one is in West Surrey, but there've been reports of it happening all over.

how were they posing as staff? a lot of polling stations have members from the main parties sitting outside and ask to see your polling card, this is simply to keep a record of who has voted and is purely voluntary on your part as to whether you show them. It is illegal to canvass voters outside a polling station.

As Flipper says .... Thats not canvasing and is perfectly legal...

The parties use your poling card number to identify you as an active voter ... Nothing more. They will then use that data to cross reference where you live and will target your demographic group (age / salary etc) in your area specifically in the next election because they know you got off yer Bum and actually voted in the last election.

All perfectly legal.... All BLOODY BORING

The people at the polling booths were probably "telling" - they should be noting the polling number only; that gets sent back to base every couple of hours where it is matched against the electoral roll for the pledged votes (recognized from any canvessing done in that area), for that party. Where a pledged vote is missing a call is made to the voter to ensure they are voting or to offer assistance to get to the station if it is asked for.

Flipper is right, it is not to swing the vote, which is illegal, but to try and ensure a vote is made. All parties do this. They select the polling station to "tell" at based on the anticipated result following the local area canvassing.

The tellers are required to wear an identifier / rosette of their party colours (which interestingly must not name the party) to help voters identifiy the fact they are not part of the polling staff.

It is perfectly acceptable to refuse to show your number. FYI all parties, may share the info. By not showing your number, you may end up getting nuisance calls on the day chasing you to vote. It is not used for any other purpose and the info is shredded at the end of the day (or at least is is where I was helping).

Cunting pikey scrot offspring who should have been shot at birth, catapulting a ball bearing at my driver's window as they drove past it whilst I was parked outside my mum's house this afternoon.
Target practice anyone?

Finding out that three guys dressed in soldiers dessert style uniform and collecting money for help for heros at the Grand Designs Show were actually fakes (who work for a debt collection agency) and they had been fleecing the general public in the name of charity....75% to them and 25% for help for heros what a w***er

Needless to say they have been kicked out Confused

piss taking employers that think they can exploit people they pay peanuts to, by telling them they HAVE to work extra hours without any extra pay cos thats what the job requires .....I DONT FUCKING THINK SO Twisted Evil This is Jens employer ....and he is trying to push her into doing an extra 2 hours this week for no extra pay.
ok her money each month takes a little off my shoulders but im fucked if im gonna let her be exploited the way i have been in the past because i was the only income when her wage is just a few extra quid to make things a little easier (FFS its only 24hrs a week over 3 days she works).
So she has gone in today and questioned her 3 o'clock finish time saying it should be 1 o'clock ...Her boss can either take the easy option and agree with her or he can try and make her stay till 3 in which case ill be picking her up at 1 and He can send another of his minions to the butchers for a lump of steak and some ice A kick in the nuts

Laughing Read your response and thought, "WTF?!!" Had to go back & look at the pic as I hadn't twigged the duck in my first cursory glance.

As for the blindfold, I bet you were wondering where the one in your barn had gotten to... Embarrassed Laughing

Discovering my"bargain" helmet really was not the best price I could have achieved by a long margin.

Also discovering that some parts were missing from the box too.
