On my 5th day of not smoking Finding it a lot easier than i thought i would, using the correct dose of patch, rather than one too weak, which is how i tried before and failed! But have spent half a day without a patch on and felt ok. The biggest achievement so far was going out last night for wine and tapas with a mate who was smoking like a chimney and not even wanting one <<<----- thats how happy i feel _________________ Im not indecisive........when im not given a choice!!

Considering i smoke nearly 20 a day, yes i had my first craving half an hour after i put my last one out I'm sure im over the worst, the habit is already starting to disappear, and i'm not wanting one after food or a cup of tea half as much. And luckily i've lost my appetite and i am only eating half as much as I was, so it seems im not subsituting food for the fags _________________ Im not indecisive........when im not given a choice!!

Good luck girl but bear in mind, I gave up 2 years ago this month and still crave almost every day, having a ciggie is moments away all the time.
Always used to smoke after food, on the ferry etc and those times are the worst.
5 days , don't even think that it might be over, keep your guard up and you'll be over it in about 7 years. _________________ Thinking about it, i may be some time |

exactly slapps!! You can only do it when YOU want to, and not when everyone else thinks you should

Nice one Paula, good for you and like slappy quite rightly says you will give up cos you want to. If you are loosing the habit already then it should be a breeze for you. I gave up ahem, ahem years ago can barely remember . Gave up cos I wanted to and that was it job done, over the christmas period as well when everyone was on the lash and smoking like chimneys.

Getting home this evening putting the bike away and hearing absolute silence.... no cars, no planes, no irritating scooters just peace and quiet. Haven't heard that in a long time.

Go for it PJ's little sis its hard going, I think I'm 4 months in now and said tonight I'd kill for a fag. Its a case of you'll give up if you really want to.
Apart from that, looks like we have found a singer and we won the league so good day all round _________________ Anything you say may be taken down and used as evidence in a court of law, or boxhill forum!!
