For me its gotta be potholes especially when they turn up right in your line as youa re going round a bend Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad ...

With decent observation and experienced anticipation the rest can either be avoided or very quickly overtaken

BTW - WTF is SMIDSY ???

I voted for "other" as some of my pet hates were not on your list -
Diesel spills (especially in petrol stations),
fag ends out of car windows,
people closing up gaps deliberately when filtering,
Middle lane ownership society members on the Motorways/dual carriageways,
speed cameras,
Rozzers hiding in hedges,
all the gear no idea riders who show no interest in improving the standard of the riding,
"militant" motorcycle protests (we're not hard-done-by as motorcylists really),
"reputable" garages insisting on over-tightening drive chains,
Main dealer labour charges being inversely proportional to the standard of their work,
Riders taking someone "bitch" in shorts and T shirt & ill fitting lid while they pilot the bike in their snug Arai, A* boots & one piece race suit
"surface dressing on roads"

I'm sure I'll think of some more

Ahhh - Thx for that

In that case SMIDSY falls into the category of Decent observation & Anticipation and can easily be avoided.

Simple rule of thumb - "Everyone & everything else on the road is a collision waiting to be anticipated and avoided". (I avoided saying accident as there is ALWAYS someone at fault to some degree)

Yup, every "accident" I have ever had has been in some part my fault, or avoidable. This whole "blaming" others stuff neither fixes bikes or riders Sad

Motorcyclists thinking that how fast they can go is a measure of how good they are as a rider.

If that was correct, a 14 year old joyrider driving a stolen Nova around an estate at 90 mph must be a REALLY REALLY good driver.
