out of interest what's wrong with spray chain lube ? (assuming it's not sprayed all over everywhere), I use a dry lube spray, is that a bad move ? |
Nothing wrong with it per se, but the thick snotty stuff seems to trap all the road grit and is a b*tch to clean off, and I have had bad experiences with chain wax in wet weather allowing the chain to go rusty.
About 6 months ago I started using 80W90 gear oil from an oil can, just apply every few days after riding. No black gritty chains, no rust, no mess, and virtually no fling.
Obviously this is just my opinion, and I don't want to open up the whole chain lube debate again |
You seem like a cheapskate to me
Get one of these only £16:99 and highly recommended.

Too much fling in my opinion....Kept adjusting mine and could never be sure it was lubricating correctly so took it off.
I Clean the chain using the muc-off doc and lub it using wurth dry chain lube....seems good stuff. _________________ Teamwork makes the Dreamwork! |

You people just can't help yourselves can you
Cheers for the link though Bob, might have a little look at the tuturo thingy. For £16 (As opposed to, what, £300 for the top end scottoiler?) it's worth a go!
Then again, I am a cheapskate...£3 for the oil can, £7 for a litre of oil, and that'll probably last me a good 6 months or so...

Urgent jobby from Bournemouth to Weston super mare, it's pissing with rain and i get a puncture 20 miles into the job
Always carry repair kit but first time with this new tip top one, works a treat and cleaner, easier than the stringy plugging kits i used to use
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220634797136&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
15 mins later i'm back on route
Just as i'm pulling up at job, i turn on adverse camber and it starts to tip, I'm on a pan european and it's like trying to stop a wave with a sandcastle and it goes down.
Luckily it is only a scrape on the crash bar cover _________________ Thinking about it, i may be some time |

Hmmm sounds like it should be what made me smile today really
That's a cracking price for the puncture repair kit..... I got one of those from helmet city and it comes highly recommended _________________ Boxhill Chippendales

They're good kits and an amazing price. That's cheaper than I can buy them for trade! _________________ It's not the speed of life that bothers me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Getting a reet royal soaking on the bike this afternoon, on the plus side, played silly buggers with a woman in an Aston Martin, made me smile, the car being driven quite enthusiastically chasing some nobhead on a Triumph . _________________

WPMOT A particular well known multi franchise motorcycle dealership who seemingly employ total fucking retards in their workshop - this weekend, I adjusted the chain on GG's bike as it was like a feckin bow string and TBH, could (along with the almost maxed out suspension pre-load - which was how the bike was sold to her ffs ) have been a contriubuting factor to her coming off last week. Bearing in mind, this same bunch of yee-ha cowboys over-tightened windy z750's chain last year to the point that she was being bucked out of the seat on every bump

Been signed off work for at least 2 weeks. Woke up this morning to find the entire surface of both hands covered in blisters and generally oozing
I am now facing the strange world of benefits and SSP...Not somewhere I've ever been before, but I've paid for 'em, so I'm going to claim them!
Now, where did I put my hoody.....? |
