I last skied there some 17 years ago. See if you can still do the Olympic downhill ski run as well as the four man toboggan. Both are quite fun and not as scary as they sound.

I went on holiday there with my parents 53 years ago - the plane had propellers and the airline was B.O.A.C. Laughing

ah, BOAC, memories of TriStars and Comets, walking out to the aircraft too and then sitting in a smoke filled 'plane for hours! Laughing

Those were also the days when the whole hotel staff would come out to greet newly arrived package holiday tourists. Now you are lucky to duck when they throw the keys at you Laughing

Yeah! Jollyboat (my nephews, Tom and Ed) got through to the next round of the National Musical Comedy Awards yesterday!!!

They will next be competing (against 9 other acts) on Saturday 26th of February at the Wilmington Arms, 69 Rosebury Ave, EC1R 4RL when, hopefully, they will get through to the semi finals.

A couple of friends came along yesterday to lend their support, have a laugh, and help us get drunk and a very good time was had by all. (Not to mention a fabulous meal at the Olde Cheshire Cheese afterwards ....nom, nom)

If you're free on the 26th Feb, please come along to the quarter finals and vote for Jollyboat!!! Tickets available here... http://www.wegottickets.com/event/102830 (Only £7 each)

Link to Wilmington Arms website here... http://www.thewilmingtonarms.co.uk/

Well over the weekend,

Getting together with a singer from one of my old bands and working on some chilled out acoutsic blues stuff (coming to a bar near you later in the year Wink )
Then yesterday DJ'ing the Croydon Roller Girls first bout, 500 people, 20 girls in fishnets, hotpants and not much else on rollerskates at high speed beating crap out of each other. Got distracted a number of times and missed the end of 4 songs Embarrassed

Likewise but I nearly got frost bite - best of the lot is that I missed a turning heading back home and ended up doing about 20 miles more in the freezing cold. I think it is going to be 10C or more for me. Oh! and the all singing and dancing Scottoiler E/System I fitted does not work - they are sending out a replacement - good service.

+1 Started the bike (first time in three months), enjoyed 10 seconds worth of heated grips and went straight back in doors yesterday Laughing

Think we should have a +10c and rising 'Events and Runs' section on here... Wink

A spur of the moment decision to go and see a mate in Ely last night... Dinner, laughs,a bit of a sing song and some reminiscing with someone I've known for half my life. And they're talking about getting another bike... or perhaps it was the booze talking about getting another bike Laughing
