Less than 700 miles and the rear wheel bearings are shot. Wheel has to go to Germany for warranty. |

Surrey County Council, Highways & Byways..... I have hired a skip for the weekend as i'm clearing space in my garden for my new workshop. Because it won't fit on the drive SCC want me to pay £87.50 for a permit as it's going on the grass verge outside.......and they want planks under the skip...........AND they wanted an e-mail from me to say i'd put right any damage caused to said verge . Now i wouldn't mind if the grass verges were well maintained, as indeed they were many years ago. But as SCC seem to turn a blind eye to all the cars now parked on the grass...sorry mud, including many next to 'NO PARKING' signs, it really boils my piss that they 've got me jumping through hoops just to have a skip for a couple of days !!! Is there any reason it needs to be on the gress verge? Can it not go on the road itself?
If it can, it will negate the planks and the contract (email) to pay for any damage to the verge.
The downside is it will require cones and lighting, but cones and lighting are the legal responsibility of the skip company, but obviously paid for by you. Worth checking with a skip company, which is registered with your council, which route is the best for you. |

Unfortunately, having the skip on the road is not an option as i live opposite the entrance to a school and very close to two bus stops.

Did look into having a van, but chose the skip as the easier, and quicker, option. It's just that by doing things 'by the book' always seems to cause more hassle. And it was the skip hire company that informed me that i'd need the permit, so probably covering their backs also. _________________ Just call me Waki. |

WPMOT... Being told I should claim on my own insurance for damage to the Bonneville wheel because the useless bastards at the council don't fill in potholes and their claims proceedure is designed to grind you down until you give up... absolute wankers. _________________

County Court Summons. Bypass their claims proceedure. They have 14 days to defend it or admit it. If they dont' reply you get Judgment against them. |

Yeah, you can issue a civil claim at any time up until they settle. To cover yourself from any potential criticism from the court though I'd write to them, recorded delivery with a letter of notice. Something along the lines of " this matter has now been outstanding X days/weeks/months, which is more than sufficient time to investigate and settled what is an extremely straight forward issue. Should I not receive your cheque/proposals, in the next 14 days I will issue a Claim in the "town" County Court.
If you havent had the repair done I would get an estimate, or better still pro-forma invoice and attach that to the letter. You will need some sort of documentation if you do issue, as you will need to be claiming an actual financial loss. |

Computers
Filling out an application at work, have to fill loads of boxes with 'evidence' of stuff I have done. Spent hours filling them all in, condensing the info to squeeze as much as i can in each category box to prove and sell myself.
Printed it and the f***ing boxes double in size, so now they are only half full with info. No idea why or how. Saved the file, reopened it and it totally changed size, with the now bigger boxes. Showed someone else, they couldn't work it out either. Tried opening a new application form and it did the same again.
So now I have to retype all the 'evidence' again. At least now I can get more info in, but fcuk me is it annoying.............and it's got to be in on Monday
I hate computers |
