Hi All
Another ol' fart joining the ranks. Not been a regular at the hill for many years, but was there quite a lot about 20-25 years ago.
Ah the good ol days, when it was all duel carriageway. I remember 2 brand new GSXR1000's, the first model, getting chased by our boys in blue for doing about 130 down the middle of the road between pensioners overtaking other pensioners each doing about 42mph. Not surprising it had to change in the end to a 50mph limit and single carriageway.
Just got a new (to me) bike so must wander over sometime from sunny/rainy Petersfield Smile
Cheers
Chaz

Cheers all, thanks for the welcome.
My 2 old bikes are a Mk1 VFR 750 from 1985
A FJ1200 Yamaha from 1988

The new one to the fold, but another V4, is a 1995 VF750C, so a custom cruiser,,, trying to slow down a bit and be more comfortable. The comfort is now sorted nicely,,, but as it's fitted with a slightly differently tuned VFR750 engine so the slowing down bit hasn't quite been sorted Smile It goes round corners too! Supposedly a 140mph bike out of the box, though have yet to see anything near that on my private road yet. And yes I do own the A3...

As to "was I one of the GSXR's" I have to say no, not me. I was on an race tuned, chromed frame, RD400 back then. It was nippy,,, but not as nutty as the GSXR's (either in speed or riding style). I'm still alive, not sure about either of the GSXR riders,,,.

I like a progressive pace, but not at the sacrifice of safety. Defensive riding is my style and I treat every bu**er on the road as if they're trying to kill me.

Was out for a ride with two VFR800's and a Ducati the other week. Me in 3rd position with a VFR behind me. He said that apart from him having a couple of grand more revs in each gear (VF 9.5k, VFR 11.5?) that there was nothing between the two bikes. No problems keeping up on a brisk paced run. Very pleased with it, though it's going to be a swine to keep clean with all that darn chrome everywhere!
