On a fine morning, sometime in the next few weeks, a GS1200, a KLR650 and a Honda will be going for a ride.
This ride will have a maximum speed of 45-50mph.*
This ride will be fun
This ride will contain sections of off road
This ride will be over 4 miles long
This ride will be under 100 miles long
This ride will involve laughing at people
This ride will involve at least one coffee stop
This ride might be on the 27th or 28th of October or 3rd or 4th of November depending when is best for the GS and KLR
This ride welcomes any type of bike/rider provided you don't mind mud and scratches.
That is all for now.
*knee sliders will most likely not be required _________________ It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. - Douglas Adams.

That requires a big OMG I'm guessing I'm the GS then?
I'm guessing the KLR owner will be equally suprised
Count me in

Normally Sundays are best for me....however, in your opinion Pete, are the off roads sections any quieter, traffic wise , on a Saturday.
I'll get some supplies in....kendal mint cake, flares, gaffer tape and strapping to stop my sides splitting due to laughter!! _________________ Just call me Waki. |

What bike would you be using V? I wouldn't advise you to use yours, something with a bit of ground clearance might be better... or a spare Honda cub if you find one lying around... _________________ It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. - Douglas Adams.

I'm going to head over to Rykas tomorrow morning and have a look at the condition of some of the lanes. Not been out on them for nearly 2 years! I know that 2 will be okay but some of the others might be a little tricky, especially with a GS and a HC! Waki will be fine though so we'll take a tow rope and make sure the KLR has a suitable towbar. _________________ It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. - Douglas Adams.

Yes, going to visit them, coated in a thin layer of mud, might not give the best impression. _________________ It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. - Douglas Adams.

I already have a thin layer of mud from Switzerland and The Dorset Ranges

If I still had my Cub I'd be on this. Easily the best bike ever made.
Will a Cagiva Raptor do. It certainly won't get any dirtier! _________________ So many roads, so little time. |

This is Raptor II, or Son Of Raptor, or Raptor Returns or any other sequel name you can think of.
I don't think this one goes as fast, but it sure is good to ride .
Whoops , sorry! _________________ So many roads, so little time. |

Course.
We might leave you at the start of Ranmore Common as you bottom out on the slight terrain the tarmac is draped over. _________________ It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. - Douglas Adams.

Oh yes.
Well, when is best for you? Sunday this weekend should be OK for me. We might have visitors but I can escape for a few hours.
What about you Tusky? Going to risk it on the GS? I would say that the lanes will be okay unless it rains. If it rains then there will be some muddy bits and even the monstrous C90 will struggle. _________________ It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. - Douglas Adams.

To be honest the November weekend would be better for me. This would give me time to sort the tyres out on KLR. Having probs getting the old ones off at the moment. Lets see how Tusky's fixed. _________________ Just call me Waki. |

Sounds good to me.
Tyres? SS really, really, really enjoys fitting troublesome tyres... _________________ It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. - Douglas Adams.

I will leave my propeller tyres on, as they should bite nicely with lean angle exceeding 45 degrees....... However, anything demanding verticality should be impossible
Meant to be visiting family at some point on Sunday, so need to find out the times..... Think other weekends are probably OK as well _________________ Boxhill Chippendales
