What do you reckon?
Will it be "the perfect storm"?
I hope for their sakes it isn't as bad as the rhetoric on the TV...... _________________ Cheers

I hope it's not as bad as they fear.
We made a lot of money doing disaster recovery for a plant in New Orleans that had been flooded by Katrina, felt a bit wrong tbh ... that said, the work I did and the parts I supplied got an Oil Refinery up & running again, meaning that thousands of people employed by the plant could return to their jobs _________________

Indeed. And also, by encrypting the signal, the BBC are getting no licence fee from me, since the Act of Parliament (or whatever it was) that said that they could charge a licence fee I believe was conditional on the signal not being encrypted, Digital is encrypted so it's a matter of principal. Plus they employ some total cnuts (line has been cast.... awaiting the bite ).
I love the way that the TV licencing lot don'r believe that I do not use a television and keep threatening to send the boys round... go on, be my guest. _________________

Had an email from a supplier in New Jersey saying that although their building was undamaged they have no phones, electricity, power etc in the wake of "Sandy" _________________

I live in Connecticut but work in the northeast corner of New Jersey and it's been the same for me with no work all week as there is no power or phone. At our house we never lost power etc but we were very lucky. It was a very scary experience monday evening when the storm was at it's height. I stood outside my back door about midnight and the noise from the wind was frightening and it being a full moon you could see the trees whirling around. They were recording gusts of 85mph just down the road at the local airport. The storm picked up strength during the day monday.
I think now they are just starting to reach areas cut off by the storm the true extent of the storms power and the damage are becoming apparent. There are some heartbreaking stories emerging. _________________ Support your local farmer. |
