I was at a MAG meeting last night.

Type Approval has been voted through by the European Parliament for bikes below 48HP.
Massive majority. Very few even read it, it was not issued in all languages.
No changes will be allowed to powertrain (all engine, transmission, exhaust controls etc, not even a non factory air filter)

Below 48HP this week with no evidence of any reason.

Above 48HP next?. Almost certainly.

A great tragedy and disaster for us all.

But isn't that related to the new licencing & keeping the bike within the limit for the new licence category?

The 3rd EU Driving licence directive coming into force next year limits young riders (19-24) to 47bhp for 2 years, manufacturers will be keen that their bikes are right on the limit of this , so it it right that someone can de-restrict that, or squeeze a few more ponies out to take them over the power allowance?

Thats all fine but historically this will be a first step to stop us all modifying our bikes above and below the 48HP limit.

Everything will stop. Exhausts, remaps, sprockets, engine work, air filters etc etc.

Lets not sleepwalk into it.
