Losing Kevin is a tragedy which will be felt across the entire industry. He was a friend, as much as a journalist, and will be sorely missed. Our heartfelt thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this awful time.”

I read some of his reviews and he did not cower down to manufacturers - if a bike was rubbish he would say so - even to the point where Triumph banned him from their launches for a while - he had run ins with BMW as well.
The circumstances of this accident have not been released yet. BMW have scrapped the launch of the GS for the meantime.
Maybe there is a "duty of care " issue here which is why the circumstances have not been revealed.
From what I have read around the forums this was not a guy who took silly chances or road like a twat - quite the opposite in fact.
