Last time I read my policy there was a reduction in payout if the bike was stolen if not in the locked garage, but will look at my latest policy now ! _________________ It's all down to quality of life ! |

There's a little known loophole for "Laid up" bikes... imagine putting your bike away in September... posting back the tax, declaring SORN and then perhaps letting the MoT lapse... With lots of insurance companies your bike is now not insured for fire or theft... moreover. .. come spring and it needs an MoT so you can tax it etc... you might find that you are uninsured for taking it to the MoT test garage... even with a pre arranged appointment. Check the small print or just ask the question.. _________________

Watch out on Travel Insurance as well if your planning a trip abroad - nearly all exclude bikes over 125cc. _________________ "Those who understand compound interest are destined to collect it.

Check the wording as I thought that of mine but mine is ok if the bike is your form of transport leaving the country. i.e. I am covered for touring Europe on my bike but not for "fly hire". _________________
