Very stupidly, I managed to allow myself to be persuaded to climb Snowdon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. It started as one person doing it as a bucket list thing in Sept 2011 but the weather was crap, and she and the friend who was supporting her had to turn back just a few minutes from the top. Her health continued to deteriorate so a bunch of her friends, most of whom have also had breast cancer, decided to do the climb for her, and she was going to make us all bacon butties when she got back. But sadly, she died in January 2013. But the climb is still going ahead in her memory and because so many people are affected by cancer during their lives.

Did a bit of a training walk at the weekend. Amazed we managed to walk up the hill, given the partying we did the previous night we should have been on our knees!

So if you'd like to sponsor me, and I know some BoxHillers have done so already (thank you!) go to www.justgiving.com/jennyrichardslifeclimb.

Biggus, you made me cry. Thank you so much!

We're doing Llanberis, as it's supposed to be the easiest route and a good few of us are dreadfully unfit, myself included. I expect I'll need lots and lots and lots of stops. We're sending some of our supporters up on the train with the champers so we can raise a glass to each other and to absent friends, before rolling back down the mountain. That evening will be party time. Can you imagine? 50+ women all up for partying, the place will be rocking!

Just looked at the 10-day weather forecast for this, and in 10 days time the MAX temp at the top is only 5 degrees, with rain and SNOW showers - eek! I'm hoping things perk up a bit by 1st June...

Can someone please have a word with the weather fairies for me?
