I didn't see him last night as we inhabit different universes at the moment.
I will talk to him when he surfaces from his slumber, probably about midday.
Looking good though . |
Thank Jimbo much appreciated! _________________ The road to success is always under construction.

OK, with the offer of a wetsuit Michael is ready to swim .
Might it be a good idea to try the suit(s) first? Don't want to get there on the day and find neither fits! One of us could collect but I'm not sure where you guys live. If acceptable please PM me your address(es).
Alternatively you could come over to ours. I'm going to Paris (to see the finish of Le Tour de France) early Friday morning so time is running out for me. But, as he is looking for work after completing uni', Michael is around.
I may be back from France by the 27th, but SWMBO has indicated she would like to tour around like the good old days before the chiddlers arrived.
Let me know. _________________ So many roads, so little time. |

Jimbo, that is great news!!!
Peter's wetsuit is a MT (medium tall?) but it is tight on him. I believe cleber's is an XL? Is that right Cleber?? So your son may well benefit from trying on both. I shall PM you with details of where we are and I will also need some details from your son, to register him for the tri.
Thanks again for getting him to stand in, it is a massive weight off our minds! _________________ "Life is too short"

Our race time (we are wave 8 ) is 2.15pm.
The advice is to be there AT LEAST 90 mins beforehand. I think we usually arrive for 11-12ish and meet at 'The Italian Taste'/Bagel Bar seating area?? Register then get some lunch etc....
I will check with Miss V, see what the general concensus is and let you know. _________________ "Life is too short"

Right! HCMS and I will be aiming to get to the ExCel for between 11am-12pm.
Miss V, MM, Summerman and Posh Bird are (as far as I know) travelling up together....
We shall meet in the food hall, between the Bagel Factory and the Italian Pasta place, between 11 and12.
I have the race pack for Team B (CrazyHorse, HCMS and Michael-Jimbo's son) which includes race numbers etc...
As far as I'm aware, Summerman is to contact Michael with the meeting arrangements.
Anyone who wishes to come and cheer on our teams is more than welcome-it really pushes you on!!
15 hours to go!!! _________________ "Life is too short"

Results are on line but provisional results (looking at file some times are missing so these peeps may yet get disqualified)
T1 is transition time between swimmer getting out of the water, removing wetsuit and running up into Excel and swapping timing chip over to cyclist who then has to run out before mounting bike.
T2 is transition from cyclist dismounting and entering hall to meet runner, rack bike and then give timing chip to runner.

Have just ordered complete set of official photo's of Team 'A'. So hopefully will upload some soon. As for the event itself, I must confess to being apprehensive due to my recent drop in form, brought about by the heat and long working weeks.
However once at the ExCel the usual 'buzz' gets the adrenaline pumping, meeting up with the team members before signing on, racking the bikes, and awaiting our start time. My personal target was to set a sub 40 minute time as my previous results a couple of minutes over. Alas it was not to be. Lack of form plus heat on the day resulted in my slowest ever time despite giving it every thing I had. So was disappointed but not really surprised with time. But things looked up when HCMS's time was announced. Pete also found it tough going and, although fitter than me and half my age , was only 7 minutes quicker .
It's interesting to compare the two results. Team B faster on swim and cycle, Team A faster on run and transition 2. Total times within 10 mins or so. Finished the day totally exhausted and sporting some mean carpet burns after getting tripped up while running to the finish Another brilliant London Triathlon over. Not too late to donate to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, I still have some off-line funds to collect. Many thanks to my awesome team mates. Cheers. _________________ Just call me Waki. |

I received a letter this morning from The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, thanking our teams and sponsors for raising the "most fantastic" total of £690 by completing the Virgin Active London Triathlon. I still have a money box to hand in and I think there may be a few offline donations yet to register, so I think we can confidently say we cleared £700! This is a brilliant effort and I would like to say a personal thank you to all who donated, competed and supported this fantastic cause!
There are also certificates for all the team participants, Jimbo and Crazyhorse, I will get Michael's and yours posted out to you asap. _________________ "Life is too short"
