Getting a bijou tugette from HM's finest going into work at 0100. Well, I only crossed the double white lines once, and the lights turned to red as I went through them. And my speed.........surely not! We had a fine chat - the motorcycle-riding 'bobby' and me.
But what really boiled my pi$$ coming home at lunchtime. 4 or 5 police vehicles at Hammersmith Bridge, and 9 or 10 'scuffers' - looking for thieves? £40 million robbers? burglars? Nah - road tax!!
And on the road into Chessington from the M25? A total of 5 police vehicles - looking for the aforementioned £40 million heist gang? Nah, speeders entering the 40 limit.
Good to know that our taxes are being spent so wisely. Still the clear-up rate from speeders/VEL dodgers is far far higher than catching a gang who've just stolen £40 million.

"Still the clear-up rate from speeders/VEL dodgers is far far higher than catching a gang who've just stolen £40 million."..........I doubt they are even still in the country. N o firm etimate on what was lifted, tho even 25mil would take quiet a few bags marked "Swag" to carry it all.

Timing. Channel tunnel.......its out of the country. Load of Barcelona fans coming over for a social gathering with their south london counterparts. All the customs peeps stretched.....Its gone mate every penny of it. Wouldn't be surprised if it was financed by organised crime from abroad.

And they say crime doesn't pay........well 30 odd mill seems a pretty dam fine salary for a days work to me!!
