Funnily enough I was talking to Chuffster about this the other day... apparently you can get 5 points on your licence for GYKD on the road... worth bearing in mind as you have a new licence with a 6 point life Wink Smile

Actually that's a good point Doh... you might well see some weekend early morning knee down antics at a certain roundabout near to your house... Smile

Nope, never got my knee down but I would like to! It's a confidence thing. Corners and leaning over scare the pants off me.

Just one point Doh.... I've not seen you riding...

...But if you are getting your toe down then you probably either have it right on it's ear already... or you have "duck feet" i.e. have your feet hanging forward off the pegs - not a good place to be as you can easily fold your foot under the peg (painful Wink ). Better having balls of your feet/ toes on the pegs. Check out pictures of Valentino Rossi - see where his feet are at on the pegs Smile

Personally, I would not get too hung up on getting your knee down.

I used to but now no longer worry. A "nice" thing to have, but it will not change my life.

From my recent Spanish trip, I was more than able to hold my own on the inters group top times and so figure I am fine. There are many people who can get their knee down but still do not ride well in general (before I get flamed; this is not a dig at anyone specifically!).

Getting your knee down really isn't that difficult as long as your body position is correct on the bike and you have suitable tyres for cranking it over. It really helps to have rear sets, but, you can hang off like a real monkey on lots of bikes and still manage it just fine.

If you are scraping your toes, and not your pegs, you have your feet positioned incorrectly. I can muller my pegs, but my toes do not go down.

I do not normally put my knee down on the road, only when demanded of me by the other half or for demonstration purposes. Laughing

think we've proven time & time again that "Knee downs" are NOT a neccessity or sometimes even a benefit
it's all about the fact that NONE of us here are a Rossi or a Haga. For me and I'm sure a lot of others
IT'S FUN AND IT MAKES ME SMILE!

easy as that Smile
