Leading on from another subject the three most moaned about offences on most motorcycling forums is being dealt with for

1. Dark Visor

2. Loud Can

3. Small Number Plate

So who on here has actually been dealt with for any of these offences in as much as a fixed penalty notice or summonsed to court, being warned is not being dealt with Rolling Eyes

nor is knowing someone that has Exclamation

So enter the poll and lets see!

Small number plate £30
Non E marked can £30

Dual carriageway near Yalding - could not nick us for speeding but I think were responding to complaints by local residents of m/cycles with noisy cans speeding up and down (which I can sympathise with).

Small number plate - for me it was a cosmetic thing - I was not intending to avoid capture and have put back my more reasonable one.

Loud exhaust - its a horse power thing Very Happy

also I do believe it is safer for other motorists to be able to hear you coming (another debate already done to death)

Friend who was stopped at the same time had a dark visor as well as all the above but did not get a ticket for the visor.

France is the best place for small number plates a lot of them look like elongated postage stamps Laughing

The other comical thing about how our traffic laws are drafted is that no number plate is still only a £30 fine. However I suspect if it is deemed to be intentional then a prohibition order could be placed on the bike.

The fines were a slap on the wrist and the point was taken.

The whole incident (well the £60 fine) has given me nightmares and I am now a quivering wreck unable to sleep at night Very Happy

I've got a legal plate but rode to work today wearing a black visor, however, I always have a clear one with me in case I get tugged. Touch wood, I've never been pulled over for anything. I'm probably guilty of the offence of having too large a chicken strip on each tyre!
