best lesson ever taught to me many moons ago was to ride like every one is out to get you .......i didnt realise they meant the mate following tho 
banter over ......Bou im not trying to preach to you but this is an established forum and although i can see you meant well by posting up the details you posted ...dont you think this discussion has been debated battled wrung out and hung out to dry several times before ?......honestly fella dont take too much too heart ...its an old arguement to which there is NO real winner ....someone has already said it ....each to thier own.
will someone lock this now cos its gone from informative to entertaiing to boring |

It sticks in my throat to say this but.... I agree totally with WD here. (I'm feeling quit ill after admitting that now  ) But it also takes a lot more that 40 years of riding and qualifications gained X number of years ago for anyone to be justified in slagging off any people or organizations that provide any form of extra training.
No-one said that the IAM or RoSPA are the Be all and end all of Advanced training (at least I didn't). Mainly because IMHO they are not. The only reason I started this thread was to make the members of this forum aware that they existed, that you got a hell of a lot for your money and that they were local to everyone.
This bit of info was replied to by saying that they were a bunch of old farts. A comment that could only serve to put people off going to them for training. As lil Mush said - the idea is to get training - not to make friends (although I have made quite a few there).
FWIW - I'm in both these organizations and have yet to meet anyone who thinks they know it all and who isn't still trying to learn but I have met a couple of people I would put into the Twat category along with some members of this forum.
Before you respond - Im not "collecting qualifications" to tell everyone about as WD seems to think ... Im just becoming a better, safer rider and having a lot of fun doing it... |
My problem with this thread is that, as someone who has only done their CBT in April, the tone of your original post is way over the top. It reads as if you know best. You don't.
You may have some valid points on all angles of life, but, in my grand opinion, your ability to put them across needs some real work. This is one of a couple of threads where I believe it is your keyboard tone that creates the defensive / offensive replies.
Like the townie moving to the country village. The village has been around for some time, it is up to you to fit in, not make the village stop ringing the church bells because you do not like the noise.
All this back tracking can be avoided by a better approach.

Both the IAM and RoSPA cost between £110 - £140 for an unlimited number of Observed / Training Rides and that price includes the cost of the Advanced Test and a years membership to both your local group and the IAM / RoSPA.

Thats not backtracking just a decision not to let the bullying twats that post on this forum force me away. There are too many good people here that have worthwhile and constructive things to say for me to walk away.
And as far as trying to help me by giving communication tips? - Go Fuck yourself ya patronizing bastard!!! Hows that for communicating?
Now is there any change that we can actually post about motorcycles and stuff rather than try to Bully each other as if we were back in infant school???
