Today in a national speed limit section of road, I was behind a Surrey Rozzers BMW doing about 35-40 mph. I waited behind for a couple of corners, then when it was clear that he wasn't going to "make progress" I passed him when I had a safe opportunity and watched him disappear in my mirrors.

Do you pass Police vehicles that are travelling considerably below the posted limit?

Even if they were doing exactly the speed limit per my speedo, I still would slip past at an indicated 2-3 mph over in the car. Not sure about a motosickle. Not had a problem yet with that.

Always. Sit behind and they will start wondering why.

You can usually tell when there's a plod vee-hickle up ahead by the moving traffic-jam that's hesitating behind it. I do overtake, at just less than the "10% + 2mph" thing, just in case my speedo's not accurate. And then wait until lots of others also overtake before I feel safe.

If they're doing 30, you can pass with at least 35 showing on your speedo, what with speedo's reading +10%

In a 40, you could be nearly up to 50 on your speedo.

In a 50, 60 on your speedo will be safe to pass.

In a NSL, just nail it..................................................................... mwa ha ha ha

I tend to use the speed reading on the twat nav... Interestingly the Pan speedo is not as "optimistic" as other bikes I've ridden

I never used overtake on the firestorm as it was SOOOO noisy! However, I have done it loads of times on the ninja and Zed.

Lucky me has a boring standard bike. Slip gently past and wait until they're a tiny spec before accelerating.

How very unlike you. Thought you preferred to out-brake them, then stuff them up the inside. Hey, ho. Guess times change.

Yep.

Unless I had an illegal plate/exhaust etc.

And then it would depend if the car was divisional or traffic.....
