750 is very good bike but like me your a big chap so might find it a bit small when riding. 600 wouldnt pull your cock along. So 1000 best choice Very Happy

There is no point buying a bike that you are not comftable on. So its not about engine size its about what bike fits you best. If the bike fits then you will have more confidence to ride it. Opinions are like cocks, they all ride an R1 Very Happy

Wot he says.

Would you continue to wear a pair of shoes that were uncomfortable? No.

Well, a motorcycle has to fit you too.

Why is this poll limited to Jap bikes Rolling Eyes

What about MV F4, Ducati 1198, Aprilla RSV and BMW K1300 etc etc.....

May have their eccentricities but if you can afford them.... why not?

FWIW personally I find the current crop of litre bikes a touch cramped to ride - they're the same size if not smaller than 600's of 5 years ago. The current model blade is as pointed out the easiest to ride but don't discount the ZX7R ok so s/h is your only option there, but it's a 'proper size' bike rather than the majority of big sports bikes which are like mini moto's with a litre engine grafted on. 954 blade was a good size too, and a tad more real world than todays missiles. Think outside the box! I.e. What about Trumpet speed triple, kwak zed 750/thou? Depends what you want to do with it also... For me I wouldn't want to be on a newish thou for more than a couple of hundred miles - virtually every weekend ride out I do covers at least that much ground, and in reality I'd be no quicker on a litre crotch rocket than anything else. If i was looking for a thou i'd probably go back ten years. Remember. Todays TT winner will doubtless be branded a sports tourer 5 years down the line buy the gutter bike press.

Another point to consider (having bought a brand new bike that was a new model 6 years ago) is should you have a minor mishap (as even the more experienced have) then consider a bike that has a plentiful supply of parts on Ebay Bandits, although clearly not what you're looking for score well here - a big advantage for bikes that have more than a 2 year model replacement cycle.

The one that suits you best! Sorry to be blunt but there is no one objective answer to this.

Try them out and see what one you get on with. I am faster on my "boring" Honda than I was on my Gixxer. Further the Gixxer caused me to have severe knee pains. Yet on the paper the older Gixxer has better performance.

shouldn't this be in the biking section?

Plus - how can you possibly narrow the "best sportsbike" down to three manafacturers Rolling Eyes

Only needed one HONDA Cool

See I never understand all this Honda = boring stuff. Granted I've never ridden any sportsbike so am by no means a fountain of knowledge. But how can any 600 supoersport or litre bike be boring? From what I read the Hondas are easy to ride (whats wrong with that) and are reliable (surely this is a good thing Confused ) With the sort of power these things have on tap I can't for the life of me see how any bike in this class can be boring. I don't get it Confused confuddled.
