Ok, on another forum I frequent I have already seen posts about how to store a bike during winter and this has got me thinking. How many people ride all through the year and how many tuck their bike up over winter?

Personally, I commute all year round unless it gets really cold and there is ice and snow about. I admit my GSXR doesn't come out as often as during summer but I certainly don't put it into winter storage. I love the cold clear days that you get sometimes, and riding on Christmas Day and New Year's Day (if dry) is brilliant. I also had one of my best trackdays in Feb this year where the safety briefing included 'mind the snow at the end of the pit straight and we've just had to grit the track as its -5 out there at the moment'. Shocked

On the other hand, I dislike riding in the dark as I do not have any night vision and I also don't like riding in windy conditions so the GSXR doesn't come out to play very often.

So, who rides all year round and who tucks the bike up for winter?

Believe it or not mine does get ridden all year round but the conditions have to be dry and none of that damp business going on, so it is only a couple of days in the month on my own bike.

However at work it is all year round!

All year round subject to snow and ice.

Temperature doesn't really bother me as I have heated grips, good winter gloves and several layers of fat to keep me warm lol

I ride in rain, shine, wind, hail, but not ice or snow, although on occassions this has been unavoidable. I usually do over 20,000 miles a year on 2 wheels, can't do that if you're a fair weather fairy Laughing

I used to put my bike away for winter but then if there was something particular on (Charity Runs usually), it'd be out or if it was just a nice day.

Have ridden in all weathers, so it doesn't really bother me but I'd rather not have to do it. Don't use the bike for commuting in winter at all although I sometimes use it for that in summer.

Robert's bike goes away for winter every year without fail. (Although he did do a Charity Ride a couple of years ago)
