http://www.alpineroads.com/uri.php Cool

Used that site for info on The Vosges - excellent source.

We will be doing some of the recommended roads in the Vosges area once we turn off the E50 on the way down and some more on the return trip, so should be doing most of those that are shown on the Vosges section Very Happy

I loved the Klausen Pass and the scaffold tube crash barrier to stop you plunging off the edge was class Laughing Just a big pity that we had our one and only starburst on the way there, which meant we sat at the top worried and Waki didn't get to do it first time round Sad

Thank god we are now on page two and don't have to wait for the pics to scroll Wink

I think I now need to let Valley Hostel know how many rooms we might be wanting to free up the ones that we don't need.

At the moment, peeps that have shown interest in Lauterbrunnen are.

Morwaki
Lil Mush & Brother
backonabike
andjel
Jollygiant
djSharky

Currently, Martin is the only 100% and the others have registered an interest. It is my guess that the cost for a week (10 days) could be as little as £600.00 or £60 a day which would cover Tunnel, accommodation, food (depends how much you eat and where) and petrol.

For the Dolomites trip, we have 7 confirmed and a couple of floaters, so we will need most of the rooms for the night on Sunday the 22nd August. The rest of the Dolomite accommodation is now sorted but as suspected, the rooms are a lot more expensive than the 'cheap as chips' Valley Hostel.

If anyone thinks they might be wanting to do the Lauterbrunnen trip, please let me know on this thread, so that I can try and keep a few rooms aside. This does not require a deposit at the moment but once the rooms have been let out elsewhere, you will have missed your chance. Wink

Tusky i think i'm gonna go with Scotland this year, maybe look at the alps when i have a bike that the missus can jump on too as it is a dream of hers to see them as well....

So you can remove my name from the list this year i'm afraid Sad

Thanks for the offer tho, It looks amazing and at least i have something to look forward to in the next couple of years this way, rather than doing it all in the first year of getting my license!

From another forum.....

Italy - Dolomites - Eggental - Hotel Mondschein

My wife & I have stayed here three times (we're going again in June), and each stay has been excellent. Rooms, food, staff all great. Organised rideouts, map books showing suggested rides all included. Guests mostly German & Swiss, but the shared enthusiam for biking easily overcomes any language difficulties!.

Right then.... I'm going to have to email Valley Hostel next week and tell them that we want........

5 rooms for 9 of us on the 22nd August.

1 room for Billy.... urm I mean Moriwaki until 29th August

If anybody else is thinking of coming along to Lauterbrunnen, including those that have mentioned it but not confirmed, please let me know now !!!

You will not need to pay a deposit straight away or commit 100% but once I give up my block booking, there is no guarantee that late comers will get their preferred choice of room... Wink

BUMP

Back from my hols...... this is the last chance for any floaters or maybes to say so now. I will be sending an email confirming only Moriwaki's room for the week unless peeps say so now.

Once I have done this, rooms will be reallocated by Valley Hostel and may be no longer available on a first come first served basis.
