*EDIT*
Now doing an old railway line route from Hailsham to Wessons
Big car park in Hailsham will google map later for you
Ready for off at 10am
*EDIT ENDS*

Any one fancy peddling up the South Downs? No, me neither but thats what a few of us are thinking of doing!

This is an organised event and they even charge you for the pleasure Laughing

Three distances, I am needless to say entering the shortest which is only 12-17 miles long

Not got the required kind of bike nor level of fitness for that I'm afraid. GLWT

Ahhh.... so that's what all the coffee and cakes were for on Sunday ... you were in training! Sorry, didn't realize!

Unfortunately I don't think my knee will be fully fit until the day after this event! Laughing

I may be interested, it will depend on how much bike work I can get done before then.

I am, howevever, thinking of doing the 27 mile off road route on the following event, if I do not do a run with my local Triathlon club (that means buying a road bike) on the same day.

http://www.evanscycles.com/ride-it/gatwick-23rd-24th-october-2010#route_info

Perhaps this could be a practice ride before V's South Downs run?

Yes I am.
As a last resort I can take my city bike, although I am not very keen, last time I used it off road I had to buy a new rear wheel...
Thanks.X

I am going to admit that I am not nearly fit enough for this ride so have decide to do a more normal ride, not decide yet but likely to be one of our regular old railway line rides.

Which is the one that ends up at Wessons? Cant recal where the start is?

Hope everyone understands and is happy to save the £12 entry fee and spend it on a spot of lunch instead Very Happy

I'm not fit enough either for anything too hilly Embarrassed

You're talking about the Cuckoo Trail there.... starts in Hailsham Very Happy

Have to do the Penshurst one again (shortened route) as well sometime soon... I am keen to start riding again though Wink

Or you could start in Heathfield. Drops down to Hailsham so up on the way back, but it's an old railway line so the gradient wouldn't be too much for anyone. You'd have to do Wessons on the way back of course.

I might actually drag myself out to this one, sod the knee! Shocked See my sig'.

I think Hailsham to Wessons as prefer the slight up hill on way out rather than on the homeward leg Embarrassed

What time should we be ready for off though, 10am? in that car park by the tunnel???
