Hows this for forward planning. Taking the KLR to Morocco in September next year (subject to when Ramadan falls) using ferry from Portsmouth or Plymouth to Santander, then through Spain to Algeciras and the ferry to Tanger.
As there is some forward planning required for paperwork and vaccinations , i thought i'd mention it now to see if anyone would be interested. Trip will definately involve gravel or sand roads at some point ie Western Sahara
Would be for two weeks in total, with a full week in Morocco, totally independant with nothing pre-booked other than ferries........
Anyone else fancy an adventure ?

2 weeks?
Not long enough Waki - 3 minimum. Morocco is a big country. And Western Sahara is a l...o...n...g way down.
Not trying to pi$$ on your chips, but being realistic.
I shall be there with my kebab spinner going.............. |

Point taken. Hence the reason nothing being booked, see what is 'do'able on arrival.......it'll be an adventure just to be there.
Look forward to the kebab's btw. _________________ Just call me Waki. |

Already booked to go to the Alps at the same time in 2012
If you like I could do you a bite to eat and arrange for my mate to come over and bring his Morocco route and list of hotels etc.... might be handy to get his take on things _________________ Boxhill Chippendales

Cheers Tusky. Will definately check them out........it's the same site featured in my first post regarding travel info for Morocco.
Have also checked out ferry prices to Northern Spain from Portsmouth....
One rider with bike, 2-berth outside cabin for 24 hour crossing....£475 (Sept 2011.) Not too bad considering alternative is ferry to France, 2 nights extra accom. fuel for two more days of travelling.etc. _________________ Just call me Waki. |

Nothing as yet other than it's still on. Dates in September '12 after Ramadan. I'll be heading up to the HU travellers meeting at Ripley, Derbyshire in June this year, to gather more info. . Will keep you posted. _________________ Just call me Waki. |
