|
|
Once again Team Boxhill Bikers are taking part in the London Triathlon. The event this year is sponsored by Virgin and takes place at ExCel on Saturday 30th July. And we have TWO teams entered this time, both hoping to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
We have had fantastic support in the past, none more so than from members of the Boxhill Forum. The team raised over £1000 pounds last year and we've set this as our target. But that was with one team.....with two......who knows.
The runners and riders (and swimmers) are.....
Team A
Miss V...swim.
Waki.....cycle.
Miss G...run.
Team B
KIS.....swim.
Posh Bird....cycle.
Crazy Horse...run.
We'll keep you all posted on the build up to the event, but in the mean time here is the link to our fund raising page.
http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/BoxhillBikers
Thank you once again for your support.

Swimming training tonight was hard going with lots of leg work and even tried some butterfly!!
As a back up plan for the teams is there any swimmers, runners or cyclists willing to be on stand by if one of us was unable to compete??? _________________

Come on BHF, I know times are hard but these people are putting in a lot of effort for this and would really appreciate your support. Just a small donation from everyone would really help _________________ It's not the speed of life that bothers me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Three of the team out for peddle tonight and I have swimming training tomorrow night
This is getting closer and not feeling any fitter..... could be worth coming to watch just to see me drink half the Thames and get beaten time wise by our KIS _________________

I've felt like I hit a bit of a wall for the last couple of weeks too - but keep at it, you know from past experience that this only lasts a short while and this is where your fitness really takes a leap if you stick with training. I've also discovered that lack of sleep and not enough food really makes a dent in my performance...
Running again tonight... _________________ An open mouth is a straight line to the mind.

Almost on a diet (of sorts) upped the exercise
Did 2280 metres last Tuesday and have a feeling coach intends to make me work even harder in the last two training sessions we have before the event
Dreading and looking forward to this _________________

Must confess i'm finding it tough this year. (yeah, i know ) Cycling to work helps, but after a 10 1/2 hour day, of which i'm on my feet for 10, it's very tempting to pick up the car keys in the morning. But NO !! I then have a break Saturday before squeezing in a ride Sunday am before any biking.
Should be fine come race day. Is it me or are Team B being very quiet?
Plus, may i just say, we would all really appreciate support on the day if any one is thinking to riding to ExCel. _________________ Just call me Waki. |
