Well look like a I need a set for the BMW ASAP, just noticed the rear sprocket is almost a slick, well it's bad!
Think after some searching I have mananged to find one online, nothing local?! Anyone know of somewhere withought paying stupid prices.
One other thing, more of asking a favour, does anyone have a chain link tool I could borrow for a day or so?
Cheers

Did BMW change the sprocket FOC when the chains had their recall?
it's just that a dealer told me that both were meant to be done at the same time at no charge. _________________ Boxhill Chippendales

Yeah exactly, over two and half years later since my chain snapped and 24000 miles I reckon they would tell me where to get off. Not worth the effort. _________________ Comfortably Numb

If the bike was down for a recall and the work was not done and you can prove it was done at your own cost, you have every right to ask them or request free parts......

Well got it sorted last week in between doing nights...not fun!
Thanks Duncan for the loan of the chain tool and pillar drill at your work , if it wasn't for that, I would have to send the sprocket back as the holes were too bloody small, wankers!
I had to do the riveting with a ball pein hammer though, which worked but took some time as I didn't want to feck it up.
All in all, job is a good n! _________________ Comfortably Numb

I used to use the two hammer method on my drag bike chain. Never had a problem with it ! _________________ Why pay someone else, do it yerself |
