Try the XC too. If you can live with tube tyres the extra expense is well worth it for the better suspension alone. A lot of people with the roady are spending money on suspension upgrades.

Having said that, they are both great bikes. Very Happy

Didnt like like the XC when i rode them back to back, felt to top heavy with the bigger front wheel, which surprise me as it was the one i wanted before the test ride.
U gotta get the fog lights and hand guards the lights r great!

Agreed had the same feeling about the XC felt top heavy and slower to turn in to corners. But prob better if I was using it primarily for off roading .

Not got the fogs .... (yet) Wink but have the Triumph heated grips and topbox kit and the H/guards ..

Hopefully you have finally found a bike that suits you. Though i did think you were after Big Al's title Rolling Eyes Plenty of add-ons available for the Tiger too, although sounds like you have made a start already......heated grips and hand guards....top of your list. Laughing

Excuse my naivety here, but do bikes like this have a bigger saddle to pegs distance?
Most specification sheets only give saddle to ground figure.

My knees are starting to cause me a bit of discomfort when on the bike ( old )
Having a straighter leg while riding may help?
Or can you build the saddle up to increase the distance?

You can get pump up gel seats. They're meant to give you a more comfortable ride but obviously add an inch or so to the seat height??

My mate uses one on his bike ..... clips on & off in seconds

Plus you can remove the rubbers from the pegs to give a bit more leg room, several on the 800 forum have done so but I don't have a problem with them fitted plus the low seat.

And yes the Tiger was one of those "bollox I'm too old for this" purchases, and I've loved every minute of owning it so far.

Any old excuse eh!

You looked alright when you passed me in my cage on the A21 down the white chevrons near the old Caravan Center on Saturday afternoon whilst riding the new Cagiva armchair. Didn't see any knee issues.

I told Debbie I would never do such a thing on my bike and that you are a bit of a bad influence Laughing

I omitted to tell her about your invisible central refuge incident Very Happy

Explorer is actually lower seat than the XC. Lovely bike but feels a bit heavy and cumbersome to me, the XC is also considerably cheaper of course!
