This is a motorcycle mounting kit for samsung galaxy s2. Now whilst i didn't want to use the phone on the bike I do want to use the phones satnav (which is very good btw)

The kit comes with bolts, brackets, waterproof case for phone and charging wires and wiring. No instructions in packet, but frankly if you did need the instructions you shouldn't be near a bike let alone any electrical equipment.

Build quality 10/10
Waterproofing 9/10 some slight moisture very slight and being picky
Ease of installation 10/10 took no more than ten minutes
Can still use touchscreen through plastic case which is cool
Very Happy

hmmm some slight moisture?....nothing to be picky about ...it only takes a tiny droplet in the wrong place and you samsung galaxy s2 becomes a samsung brick.
IPX4 rated ???? really??? id expect a minimum of IPX5 but would prefer to see IPX6 after all rain hitting it at a standstill may well be splashing but hitting it at 70mph upwards????? i reckon thats equal to water being projected.

however look at the IP ratings listed here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code#IPX_Coding

and take into account the IPX4 details

Test duration: 5 minutes

Water volume: 10 litres per minute
Pressure: 80–100 kPa

and one would like to think it would outstand a decent downpour ......personally id be questioning the true IP value of the item.

id also be looking ta how the IP rating was achieved and what i need to do to sustain it ...rubber seals etc?

nice concept but i fear a little unproven ....looking forward to a review after say 12 months of exposure to the elements.

Good idea, but like MrE I am a little nervous of "IPX4" have you mounted it as suggested?
