Here is my review of MJ cirque du soleis.

SHIT

The choreography was poor it was all dancing and frankly not very good dancing, there was about 3 minutes of aerial work, with mainly dancing, it did not do either MJ or cirque any favors. We along with many hundreds of others left early. The light and audio techs were poor and below standard particularly for a £60 a ticket show. The atmosphere at the O2 was poor with many many seats being empty before the show started. They even made thriller boring. I mean serioisly how the fuck do you make thriller boring. The whole show was arty farty pretentious bollocks. If you have purchased tickets to this shit show then get a refund quick.

Overall 2/10 would not see again. Btw 1 point out of the 2 was for the popcorn that was munch. Would eat again

Went to see this tonight and after SkinnyHulks’ review (above) my expectations were very low. However, I loved it and so did Sugarplum (although this might be down to the very low expectations we now had).

Yes, it’s true that if you go to this show expecting a show along the lines of KA or Algeria you will be disappointed but never the less The Immortal Michael Jackson show is still outstanding in its own right and has to be seen to be believed.

It wasn’t the usual Cirque Du Soleil show as it was a tribute to Michael Jackson so there was less of the “Acrobatics” that Cirque are famous for and more of the dancing that Michael Jackson was famous for. Saying that, the acrobatics and aerial work is there and is spectacular as was the gymnastics and dancing. The skill of these acrobats is astounding and the light, music, costumes, pyrotechnics as always were perfectly and seamlessly put together.

For those not familiar with CDS normal style of show take a look at this link:
http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/home.aspx#/en/home/multimedias/details/videos/0BFC5F0B51B443C5A508933947E0D5B4.aspx

I’m not totally disagreeing with Skinny though as there were a few flat minutes in several places but then I’m not a fan of Michael Jackson.

The evening cost me about £120 for the tickets and as far as I’m concerned it was worth every penny.

Now I’ve booked my tickets for the live version of Jeff Lynnes revamped War Of The Worlds in December with Liam Neeson

Jeff Lynnes or Jeff Wayne's Question

The Story of Jeff Lynne and ELO was on BBC4 a couple of weeks ago.... Loved Mr Blue Sky back in the 70's but never realised he pretty well did it all and was so influential and well respected by his peers Cool

If you get the chance to see Some Like It Hip-Hop, I can highly recommend it. Saw it a couple of nights ago, and it is a truly wonderful show - way better than I was expecting.

Check out the reviews online, and you'll see what I mean.

2 Thumbs up

Just booked ours for the Brighton Arena. Saw this at The O2 last time round and it was amazing. Richard Burton's hologram was cool!
