on my way in to work on my bicycle. I was almost there with no mishaps when I suddenly found myself heading for the deck - ice .
I was riding with respect for the conditions, but black ice respects no-one.
No lasting damage except a bruised hip, but I use very, very quiet roads with no other traffic so it could have been worse.
Lets be careful out there! _________________ So many roads, so little time. |

Silly old sod - use your bus pass
Could be worse - you might have thought it was a good idea to do a Track Day in December _________________ "Those who understand compound interest are destined to collect it.

Uhmmmm I nearly booked one...
Glad you're ok Jim, I had a brown trouser moment on the Triumph the other night, that was a combination of ice, and running out of talent stayed upright more by luck than good judgement mind you. _________________

, but you're not wrong. It was a huge sheet of ice at a minor road junction and I had to literally crawl to the pavement. Torvill & Dean have nothing on me .
Thanks for the kind words peeps. It's not the first time I've fallen off, but I was a lot younger and healed quicker! If anything the bruising is still coming up.
Ah well, no lasting damage. But I might give "Shank's Pony" a go for a while.

Under normal circumstances I would laugh at someone who fell of their pushbike.
And today is no exception
Glad you're ok though, GWS and take it easy. I haven't seen many gritters around lately, and with all the rain washing the salt off the roads it's likely to be a slippery few days. |

No need to worry Chris, even Jimbo doesn't take two months to recover. _________________ Just call me Waki. |

I've got one now . 60+ Oyster Card available to all London Borough residents. It's bloody great, just a little "beep" and I'm on buses, trams, underground, overground, DLR and London Rail services for
FREE

Odd that this thread came up with a red helmet (unread) when I logged in. I assumed it was a new thread...never even thought to check the date!
I did wonder what Waki was on about with the "...two months to recover" comment. I thought I'd missed some kind of inside joke...and I had: at my expense |
