Yes Kevlar would beat leather easily on that test, but that's not why bikers wear leather. The advantage of leather over anything else is that you can slide without it grabbing and making you tumble causing broken bones. In an ideal world leather skin over kevlar lining would be about as good as you could get.

But then I don't wear Leather or Kevlar. Shocked

A leather/kevlar composite would be best, because, as simon says, denim etc tend to grip the tarmac and are more likely to have jackets rise up exposing skin. There are other factors such as armour to take into consideration when thinking about clothing - a lot of the denim based bike trousers have little or no armour to protec vunerable impact points - knees, seat, hips, shins etc
