just gauging interest ....
meet at Oakdene Cafe around 8.30 if you want a brekkie to start or 9.30 for a 9.45-10am depart
heading down towards hastings / Rye then across country to folkstone up towards canterbury and back towards maidstone.

Pace...easy going (and i do mean easy ) been a while since ive ridden without ripping the arse out of the bike at any given opportunity.
Stops will be applied for a cuppa at rye and maybe an afternoon refreshment at a public house if required.
for those who have been thinking of bringing a partner but have always thought twice due to pace ....nows the time
Anyone looking to get out and stretch the bikes legs ...have a nice day this will not be for you.

Also posted on another forum so a chance to meet even more riders Cool

I've just seen this mate, but in fairness I wouldn't have been coming anyway cause I'm working!

If you were to do something on Monday however...... I'd be all over it! Laughing

no worries ..Stewie knows the score ....the rare days i get to ride now are exactly that RARE...and an old saying of " time is precious waste it wisely" has become a motto of mine of late, work now dictates i am nocturnal and weekends are a bitch to turn around and become diurnal so sundays are normally my best bet of getting out and even then there are other priorities to take my time, i know NAPA wanted an easy ride so he could bring his better half along and it fell on a weeknd he was in france so theres another that would have missed out.
I fully intend re posting this in a few weeks once i have gotten a few things both me and my body need to get out of the way .....but please take note when its posted get your names up sharpish because if no interest is shown then im obviously going to cancel and make other arrangements for small windows of oppertunity i get presented with.

P.S i just thought it would be nice for some of us to bring out our other halfs for a pleasant ride where they can return home and not require a large brandy and an overdose of prozac to feel normal again.... in other owrds a chance for the guys to put thier balls away and take time to share thier experience with thier partners.

Well didnt get out on the Sunday but did manage a nice gentle ride with my brother and his partner who is new as a pillion, so soft and gentle was the order of the day which suited Jen too as her days of sitting behind me while i hang off like a monkey are long gone. We set off with no specific destination, just point and go ...we meandered down the oakdene for a spot of brekkie and then set off through paddock wood, tunbridge wells, east grinstead, turners hill, haywards heath, ditchling beacon and coming to rest at Brighton. Being a bank holiday obviously meant every knob and his dog were out either in the weekend car or on a bicycle creating one or two moments along the way but all in all it was a favourable balance of enjoyable riding and roads vs cretins that couldnt make thier mind up if they were going to turn or not or when to pass a cyclist or how to ride a bicycle.
Following chips at Brighton we set off along the coast towards hastings with absolutley no intention of entering the Mayday affray, however people were opbviously wise to the mayhem and had begun to leave early and by the time we were closing in on Bexhill the police prescence of bikes and scamra vans every mile or so was becoming.... lets say "uncomfortable" ( we were both fully legal but obviously a scamera van doesnt use descretion for doing a few mph over the posted limit)
so i opted for a nip up through catsfield etc to battle where we passed through to join a very very quiet A21 for a few miles and then turned off towards hawkehurst, cranbrook and staplehurst eventually arriving home.
During the ride i felt the 14 was not preforming as she should and so once home set about a complete strip down of the fuelling system, found debris in 2 of the injectors, under the low pressure filter on the fuel pump and the pressure relief valve on the fuel pump had come loose, whole system cleaned and re assembled fired her up and she seems to tick over a bit more evenly now but wont be 100% certain until i ride her again.
So there ya go my Bank Holiday Monday ...spent with the one i love ..........oh with the missus, my brother and his partner too Laughing

You were lucky I was in Jerez for the Moto gp, otherwise you would have hell to pay for not sending me a personal invite!
