Indeed they are. Whats left of my left Sidi B2 after being hit by a car about 6/7 weeks ago.
Car pulled out from a parked position as i was passing and my foot took the brunt of the impact, keep it upright and pulled over. Got severe bruising of the left foot and lower leg, fortunately no breaks or fractures. Hurt like Arrrghh! On the upside the other side has admitted liability.

Bike suffered light cosmetic damage: bent foot rest, gouge & scrapes to the swing arm/shaft drive casing and will be needing a new center stand.

Bike is perfectly rideable but not repaired yet. Repairs should cost about £700 but the current numbers they are throwing around are 4 times that, which puts into write off territory. Rolling Eyes

Got away lightly with it this time. First accident in 7 years.
BMW K1200S: built like tanks.

Well done for keeping it upright, and great you're OK.

Don't forget that if the other party is responsible you can insist it is repaired regardless of cost, provided it is safe to do so. One of the guys on a LandRover forum found this when someone pulled out on him, the repair was far more than the value but it got repaired.

Repairs have recently been authorised for the end of september, including some parts that don't need repairing or replacing for some reason. Confused
The estimate is roughly 2/3 to 3/4 the value of the bike so i was half expecting them to write it off, Was a little surprised when they authorised it. If they tried to write it off, i would of kicked up a stink and insisted on repairs as (in my opinion) its a v.good bike thats done everything asked of it.
