I have just received this message on Facebook and I wonder whether any of you can also give this lady a great send off.
Roger Boxall
Am looking for kind heart people who ride large motorbikes. My mum was a
motorbike nut who sadly passed away last Saturday.
Her funeral is on Wednesday 1st July at 2.45pm at Vinters Park Crematorium. We are leaving Poplars Care Home on Tonbridge Road Maidstone at about 2.45pm with mum in a motorcycle hearse and to make it special for her she would love some outriders to escort her to the crematorium through Maidstone town. If anyone could we as a family would love you forever. No bribe but there would also be drinks and sandwiches afterwards.
Thanks in anticipation.
Roger Boxall.
I am fortunate in being retired and its not too far from Eastbourne where I live so I will be attending and it would be great if any of you could attend to give this lady a great send off.
Can you please post this message onto other forums that you think would help. _________________ you only get one life live it. |

Well I arrived early with three other bikers I met on the way and shortly after we had parked up in the home grounds more began to arrived. By the time the motorcycle and sidecar arrived with the good lady in I suppose there were twenty bikes. Those of us that were there were congratulating ourselves on a good turn out and saying its typical for bikers to do this .So once ready we followed the motorcycle and sidecar out on to the road.
It was only then that it hit me. Pulling out of the entrance I looked to my right to check to pull and out and then I saw them, a sea of bikers as far as the eyes could see. In one sense unbelievable but not in another knowing what we bikers are like. There were hundreds of different bikes and also age groups as well.
From the home to the Crematorium out riders stopped the traffic at junctions and traffic lights to allow us to proceed and many motorists showed us all additional courtesy by allowing us to proceed without having to stop.
I was quite clear from fleetingly talking to this lady's family that she really was a bike nut and that they deeply appreciated all of our efforts.
It really was one of those days that make you proud to be a biker and if there is a such a thing as an after life then this lady will be looking down with a great big smile on her face. _________________ you only get one life live it. |
