Apart from first gear I dont pull the clutch lever in for upshifting. Depending on bikes gearbox I will use it for going down. Usually if I am caning the crap out of the bike I will use the clutch for going down but if riding more leisurely a quick tap on the pedal normally downshifts it fine. _________________ Its better to regret something you did rather than something you didnt do... |

Never had a bike thats appreciated them - thumpers and shafties generally don't. _________________ Scott the Aussie,

Thats true mate. I only do them on the xt when well up in the revs, usually on the motorway. Otherwise I use the clutch - I don't think it slows me down much.
I have to second the advise about clutchless downshifts, I've always heard its bad for the box! Also if you don't have a slipper there's a higher chance of locking the back wheel. |

If I do not have a quickshifter should I use clutchless up changes on the track?
What about down changes - should I still blip the throttle? |

Always use the throttle down changes - I reckon. I've learn't to blip / double / triple blip which is well posey. Makes up for not being able to upshift clutchless! _________________ If the phone doesn’t ring, it’s me... |

Well the bike manufacturer thought it was a good idea to have a clutch on my bike. So I use it. I've watched some right twats muck up clutchless shifts. I can do it if I want ,but rarely do. |

those who have followed me in the past will prob have noticed the lack of clutch movement.
since the chain n sproxx though, im a bit more sympathetic to the whole final drive malarky.
still cane fu*k out of it though even using the clutch |

Hit the limiter on the way down forget the cluth on the way up , if you was meant to use the cluth on the upshifts , they would have made the gearboxs syncromeshed
