For all you 9.00 o clockers. I did the run last weekend at 10.00 am and it was pants on the way out. Too much traffic in the form of old ladies and trabants.
It may be a wobblers run, but at least let's make it a clear run.
I will be up at 6.00 to get there, but the fun is worth it (on the other hand, perhaps i am just sad) |

Just stamp your feet and say "Its my run and I'm leaving at 07:30 and b~$^&cks to anyone who cant get there on time"
Now how much more democratic can that be?

What do we call him - AJ (Athos junior)?!
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned he is more than welcome _________________ Adventure before dementia. |

60 mph + . You'll have to ask him to go slowly, this is a Wobblers run!
He would be very welcome _________________ So many roads, so little time. |

Ok chaps and chapesses.
Here goes.
We will be meeting up at 8:30am for a 9:00am kick-off here:
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=516280&y=122600&z=5&sv=515000,125000&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf
The route is:
A24 / 272 RVP Bucks Barn McDonalds
A272 >> Midhurst / Petersfield / West Meon Hut
Stopping at the Pub car park for rest, and Petrol at the services for those that need it.
A272 >> towards Winchester (j A31)
A31 >> Four Marks
Another petrol opportunity - but won't stop unless we need to.
A31 >> Alton (left j B3004)
B3004 >> Lindford / Liphook (j B2131)
B2131 >> Haslemere
Stopping at the Pub car park for another breather before a really wobbly bit! There is a BP garage about a 1/4 of a mile on
B2131 >> Haslemere (left j A283)
A283 >> Chiddingfold (right at village green) / left Dunsfold
Dunsfold (right j B2133)
B2133 >> Alfold / Loxwood towards Billinghurst (left j A29)
A29 >> Five Oaks / Ockley (j A24)
A24 >> Box Hill
Cya there! P.S a volunteer sweeper would be much appreciated as Chuffster offered but will be elsewhere on the day. _________________ If the phone doesn’t ring, it’s me... |

Squeaky,
Many thanks for this.
I am happy to give it a go as sweeper, but have only ever done one group ride out and am not sure what is needed.
If it is just riding at the back of the group and following the route, I can do that (I think!)
The only caveat will be the weather, if it is bad, I will pass on doing the ride. |

Hi
Thanks for what???
Re: your offer, well all it means is staying at the back and swapping phone numbers with the lead to keep in touch in case there is a problem.
Prolly better for someone who is used to it - since I haven't have led a rideout (of wobblers) before.
I'm happy for you to take it on if you think you want to, otherwise lets see what happens.
I'm seriously wondering if we won't have to split the group - since there are some faster people coming along, and the roads might just be too tempting to baz on ahead. I doubt that nowhere near 24 will show up - but if the numbers are high - it might be a good idea. What do you think? _________________ If the phone doesn’t ring, it’s me... |

I agree. If someone else takes it on, it would be better.
Re the splitting of the group, why not just let the fast guys go on and do their thang. Apart from getting lost, if something happens, either the wobblers will catch them up, or they can sort it out themselves. After all this run was set up run for the wobblers. |

Why are fast riders coming along on this Wobblers Run?
I thought the whole idea of a Wobblers Run was to allow the less confident riders and those who don't want to hammer along, to enjoy a stress-free and unintimidating ride-out, and to improve their skills. _________________ Adventure before dementia. |

It is exactly that, Swiss.
But it's a nice route - so as long as the fast guys take off in their own group - the wobblers have still got me!!! We'll sort the groups out on the day. _________________ If the phone doesn’t ring, it’s me... |
