Touch wood i've only been tugged the once, and it was a fair cop as i've probably broken the speed limit at some point every day that i've driven or ridden. _________________

bad luck innit..... everyone speeds, except the girlfriends' uncle, so just get on with it.
you are obviously asking for trouble if you nudge 140 in a 30 |

Its a fair cop - I have been caught in my own country twice. Once was fair enough, I did the humble act and the copper reduced the speed and therefore my fine by $200. The other time I am sure I was not speeding but the car beside me on the 3 lane road definatly was, but as I was moving to the UK a week later I could not persue it.
If you take the P well you probably deserve to have the book thrown at you - but not prison. _________________ Scott the Aussie,

I was caught in Scotland in the middle of nowhere for doing 39 in a 30mph zone which resulted in 3 points and a £60 fine. The police car was concealed a side road behind a large tree, so I didn't stand a chance! _________________ Mini Cooper S |

Generally a fair cop, as it is the rider who has control over the throttle, and it's the rider who decides if he / she is going to break the speed limit.
I imagine it must be very difficult to own a superfast sports bike AND keep within the speed limits at all times! _________________ Adventure before dementia. |

Never been done for speeding on the bike but have been fined once when in the car. 50 in a 30, but right where the speeds change from one to other. Hand held, must've been bloody hiding somewhere. Was a tad annoyed at that one, as it cost me a total of £190 and 4 points _________________ Don't wait for your ship to come in .. torpedo it out of the water and move on to the next target |

i think bonus summed it up. for example, my old man got caught doing 99.6mph on the A303 at 2:30 in the morning. for that he got 6 points and a 250 quid fine. there was nothing else on the road. the coppers were just bored probably, it's complete bs. |

Its virtually impossible as you can break all speed limits in first and second

I think it depends on the circumstances. If its 2am on the A303 and you get tugged for doing 100 then its bang out of order. If its 2pm doing 40+ in a 30 limit then its a fair cop.
Only been tugged once on the A23 in Merstham, doing 47 in a 30, a fair cop and the bike looked good on the video! _________________ If you judge people, you have no time to love them. |

be it 2am 2pm or just too feckin late to be bothered about the time, if you get caught speeding its a fair cop we all know the rules and regulations and we all break them knowing what the penalty is for capture.
Aye a lot of us have machines capable of breaking the nationals in first gear but that does not mean they wont work under 30mph and does not give us the right to unleash them if the road is empty.
i have reason to believe that cameras must be clearly indicated and i know of several roads that are posted as having cameras purely to cover the use of mobile units (M20 classic example).
hiding in bushes ,between cars,up drive etc should be challengable as entrapment in my opinion but does not alter the fact as road users we should know the speed limit of the roads we use (most are clearly marked) |

The problem with that is the challenge would instantly be thrown out as no one's forcing you to go over the speed limit. _________________

travelling south bound between jtn 3 and 4 there are camera warning posts going down the wrotham hill stretch.
there is a police layby at the bottom where they are known to sit with handhelds also keep an eye on the bridges for the vans |

a very good point young notty but i am sure todays laws state cmaeras must be in clear veiw of the driver be it handheld ,vehicular or static .................maybe entrapment is not the correct term but i am certain hiding would be challengable |

I agree it could be challengable just not as entrapment as if someone is forcing you to go over the limit it's probably because your life is in danger and it'd be legal any way. _________________

Obviously my machine is not as capable as some of the machines some of the other members ride, but I have been stopped for speeding. It was my own fault as I was riding at 40mph in a 30 zone. |

I was stopped doing 45 in a 30, the copper said to me that he was gonna let me off as i wasn't "tanking it" on my old GSX400FW, then he went on to ask if I was something to do with the fella that came off his bike a month or so earlier at the end of Vicarage Road in Egham, my response was, I was the fella that came off his bike......................then we laughed and went on our way.

years ago i got clocked doing 89 in a 30 on one wheel!
went to court to beg, plead and grovel ended up with 6 points and a £400 fine
think these days would be an instant ban _________________ The Stevie Wonder of rideouts!
