Dunruffin and I used to ride up to Norfolk and back on a Sunday when we were a bit younger (a bastard on my RS125DX but I did it!)

I fancy doing that again this year, but would prefer to stop over and have a beer or two and nice breakfast in the morning, these days. As over 300 miles in a day is a but much for us old sods Smile

This is just to get an idea if anyone else would be interested, nothing is decided at all at this point....just wan't some feedback.

if I get a favourable response to this I will also look at arranging :

a Pony run to Dartmoor
a Sheep Shaggers run to Wales
and a Northern Monkey Run to Matlock or similar

if anyone is interested?

Matlock and the Cat and Fiddle if the weather is good would be a great run out. Not actually that far to get to. Not sure about my making it though due to racing and I am trying to fit in the infamous ring again, probably in July. Just waiting till the end of Feb when they release the opening times and dates.

We'll see what happens if I can get the Norfolk one sorted, I've looked at a couple of pubs in Wroxham, can sleep 6-8 people. It's only a 175 miles from the coast so not too bad.

Costal run to Dartmoor is relatively easy too, along a little bit longer at about 220 miles.

Others are a bit more of a trek, but I think the A44 to Aberyswyth is a road I definitely want to do on my bike!

Cat and Fiddle run which is a stonking piece of road is very well patrolled by the constabulary and often has a police helicopter up at weekends. Road has been reduced to 50mph now thanks to the number of accidents/serious injuries/deaths on it.

Did the Cat&Fiddle, Snake Pass, and the short one up from Castleton in September (my honeymoon in a sense - the wife was in Paris with my sisters doing the culture thing!). It was an absolute blast, done in one day, but we were staying up there. Me on the Guzzi750 and a mate on my old szr660. Even with all the restrictions the Cat is still a great ride, and the food at the snake pass inn is lovely Smile you can tell im touching 40......

I would definately be interested in any of those trips you mentioned, as long as I can toddle along at my own pace, maybe meet you all there??

Interested... Like to do decent length runs. Northern one sounds better though - they have decent lager up there!
