Assuming this forum is about Motor cycles. Should Scooters be excluded.
Personally I have issues with scooters and the majority of kids riding them.
IE the countless morons who can only navigate as far as the end of the hi street. Then fit exhausts that sound like a swarm of angry wasps, thus pissing off the gen public and giving us a bad name. This then threatens our enjoyment of biking.

Actually to be fair I think that bad scooter riders are the sme as bad motorbike riders... Bad few giving the majority a bad name. Scooters are a great way of getting around cities, much easier to get on with than a motorbike if you're just commuting around a bit.
No doubt this thread is here only as the result of the latest piss take by prior members on this forum... (yawn) |

Is this forum JUST about motorcycles?
Erm, I don't think so.
Live and let live.
ps I'm assuming of course that you have standard exhausts............... |

With all due respect, how many commuters are going to joim a bike forum.
I would like to think that members of this forum are responsible bikers and from what Ive seen they are.

What about proper scooter riders, rather than chavs on 50cc rev'n'go scooters? You want to exclude them as well?
And those chavs who you seem to dislike, some of them will become the bikers of the future. Do you want to alienate them before they've even tried a proper bike?
The chavs on scooters today are just the same as us lot on mopeds all those years ago. _________________ Adventure before dementia. |

its a two wheel fraternity....can't see the prob. I'm about to buy a scoot myself. Theres loads of scoot riders that also have what you call a "proper" bike.
How far doyou want to take it, exclude riders of proper bikes that use them for a commute, exclude anything that isn't "sports" orientated........the list could go on. |

Now I'm not pointing fingers or taking sides as I'm as guilty as the rest, but lets draw a few parallels here. Lets look at whats been written.
"Personally I have issues with scooters and the majority of kids riding them."
Same could be said for a few morons you get at Boxhill or other bike meets such as the ace etc
"IE the countless morons who can only navigate as far as the end of the hi street."
Ditto above or any high street up and down the land, Chelse bridge frexample
"Then fit exhausts that sound like a swarm of angry wasps, thus pissing off the gen public and giving us a bad name. This then threatens our enjoyment of biking"
Whats normally the first thing to be ditched on a standard bike......the can! Normally for something thats loud and would probably piss the public off
So before we start flinging tarred brushes about how about we get our camp in order first.
May not have come across in the tone which I intended it to or worded properly but you get the gist.................. |

I agree EXCEPT!! the cans are usually ditched for a sweet sounding exhaust note not an irratating loud weeze from some hair dryer with wheels _________________ The Resident Forum Ghost |

"sweet sounding exhaust note"..........to you and me maybe, but I bet if you took a general vote on it from a view point of the general public it would be offensive.
What we need to do is stop applying stereotypes here and look at it all from an unbiased view point....never gonna happen tho........ |

Let just remember that this has been done before and by a mod so people that live in glass houses should not throw stones!
Now i have a problem with peds/bikes that ride like twats.

"Your to reasonable mate"....nah not really, more pragmatic or a realist even. I've seen too may vids posted on the likes oy youtube and filecab.net to realise that the way things are going the biking world will implode and the things will be legislated out of existance.
The biking, or more two wheeled, fraternity is giving governments more and more ammunition to shoot with. The other night there was a piece on the news about the battle between the residents of the new flats at chelsea bridge and the bikers and the bike riders were doing themselves or you and me any favours whatso ever. They had a video taken by a resident of the usual gixxer rider doing burnouts over the bridge, sorry to all those resposible gixxer owners out there!
Then there was the normal couple of bikes and peds that insist on popping wheelies across the bridge between the traffic etc.
All of this was being caught on tape. I went up there with a couple of members here a fortnight or so ago. Peds wheelieing and bikes burning out for most of the time we were there. Wasn't much fun tbh and if the "few" don't change their ways the bike meet at the Bridge will go the same way as the Chelsea cruise did years ago........extinct like the dodo.

i dont care who joins this forum, as long as they dont mind the piss taking that is always. and i mean always going on, and as for the exhaust issue yes the chav brigade do buzz around causing an anoyance, but then there are quite a few bikes that fly past my window, that i have no problem with but to others would be deemed as an anoyance as well
may the piss taking continue |

would u exclude me then?
am i deemed to be a chav cuz i ride a 50?
would you also exclude other strokers, like a rs125, rdlc's etc etc just because they have high pitched exhaust notes too and their owners fit loud pipes?
seems like u posted befor actually thinking about it to me. |

i did think about it and nearly all the scooter riders down here are chavs so do you :
A. have a scooter?
B. ride around in a group about 5cm away from each other?
C. ride around in tracksuit bottoms/shorts, a hoody and a t-shirt?
if you answer yes to all of the above then you are a chav |

"but its not technically a moped either".... think you'll find it is. Tho tahts not a bad thing. Your starting where 99% of older bike riders started. Which in my opinion is the way to go.......... |
