The thing that most concerns me regarding DAS is that your hypothetical 21 yo can do a few days training, pass the test then go and get the most powerfull motorcycle in the world. I'm not saying they would as most wouldn't be that daft even if they could find someone willing to insure them. The fact remains though that the law as it stands allows them to do just that. It's been said on here that there is no substitute for experience. I don't think a few days training is enough "experience" to handle 150BHP+!
This is not a dig at anybody. As I said previously, a lot of peeps on here got into motorcycling in just this way. I just don't like it at all and probably never will. Sorry.

its worse when they stroll in the shop and announce that they passed their test a week ago and have bought...an r1/gxsr thou etc Shocked

the DAS seems to be getting a slagging but when I did my test on a 125cc 15 years ago
the test was a joke could have passed it with eyes closed and pissed as a fart
I then when straight out and bought a RD350ypvs and to top it off as I was working as a technician i was test riding FZR1000's & GSXR1100's at 17!!

so surely the DAS course even with it's faults is a step in the right direction???????????????

besides you can still do a 5 day crash driving cousre and then subject to money go & but a 200mph Ferrari so if you're gonna dig at the test system take in the whole picture

as for what Bozzy may buy
I don't give a rat's arse, it's her choice and I hope she enjoys & stays safe on whatever she decides on

Craig, I must admit there are certain things about the way things are now that i whole heartedly approve of. CBT for example. When i got my first bike I paid the guy, jumped on and rode off down the road Shocked as it happened it wasnt my first time on the road, but it easily could have been. Scary stuff I think youll agree. I was clueless back then. Some would say i aint much better now Confused but I am still here and still riding. So i cant be that bad. Smile The DAS courses only saving grace imo is that you have to have training. I still think that experience before you are let loose on something that could quite easily bite you if you get a bit carried away is a bloody good idea!

I also happen to think the 5 day "crash" driving courses arent a particularly good idea either as it happens. Same comment re: experience apply.

Englands, well SVENS! disgraceful performance. 5 midfielders ffs! and crouch upfront. Means if we now want two strikers Walcott will have to play in the rounds and thats not good for a player who has no experience. Dear o dear, gutted even more so as i pm'd Jam telling him how their performance will be an example to the dutch Embarrassed

Clever Mr r1 rider (no it wasnt Wivvy Laughing ), filing this morning on the a45 at about 90+mph ....Diving in and out of cars..accident waiting to happen..

5mins down the road it did, clipped the back of car! , Luckily he was ok, All the damage we could see was a broken idicator on his bike and the car.
