Whats made me smile today?
Having Charlie Boorman (him of long way round/ Paris Dakar (in)fame(y), come into little ol' Purley Hein Gericke and do a bit of filming and trying on of various garments. Don't know if any of it will make it onto the Long Way Down, but it felt really strange trying to advise him on potential purchases with a camera a couple of foot away.
Real nice bloke though, and a real boost to the store, if only in my eyes. _________________ http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/1/order-newsletter/ |

Been there with the camera thingy some years ago. Ran an Indoor Adventure Playcentre that got featured on a BBC2 What's On programme ...took them about 3hrs to film and about 3 seconds to show a (then) very tiny Kaifish sliding down a slide into a ballpool!! ...Hope you end up with more footage than we did!!!! |

making a list of some of the comments made by the guy guy who plays the DCI in BBC1's "life on mars"
true classics that make it into the Inci book of subtlety
such as "he's as fast as a spastic in a magnet factory"

Subject: Errr.
You don't know me, and until you do, stop trying to score points on an open forum.
You've not been here very long, and you don't seem to understand the way this place works.
If you want to drag this out further, be my guest. But I can tell you right now who will be the winner. And it won't be you.

Don't ask a dumb question, remain stupid.
I'm not trying to score points with you, and you are quite right, I don't know you and you don't know me.
I had, and I have no intention of having an argument with you. I posted my opinion to a subject where quite a lively debate was going on. There had been lots of things said that i agreed with and some that i did not. It spoke my OPINION which is what i thought this site was all about. I wasn't rude to anyone, i didn't slag anyone off, i didn't direct anything at anyone by naming names. I gave my opinion and that was all.
It was YOU that quoted me and directly tried to rubbish what i had said. Are you telling me that I am not entitled to reply to that. If that is how this forum works then maybe this isn't the grown-up place where people can express their opinions that I thought it was.
After i posted that reply to YOUR coment to me you then replied again, with something which i consider to be quite rude (the 'keep up' comment). As if you were suggesting that i was incapable of understanding what was being said.
I then replied to that, as I felt you were now making it a battleground i replied highlighting you inconsistances and contradictions.
It was quite obvious that you had no reply to that and the best you could do is write, and i quote 'Booooring.....'. But then the most childest act of all, you had the thread locked.
That had been quite an interesting discussion that was going on, it proved it by the amount of visits and posts. I certainly hadn't wrote anything offensive, inappropriate or rude so I really can't see why it was locked.
As regard to you PM that I have posted above,
Sentance 1 - I'm not point scoring, i was repling to your quote of me.
Sentance 2 - I thought I was able to express an opinion, so yes i was wrong.
Sentance 3 - I think that is quite threatening.
I am big enough to draw a line under this now and never speak of it again.
But no doubt this reply will be pulled......... |

It's time to boys, everyone is entitled to an opinion wether you agree with what is said or not is immaterial, the problem is when people make comments that are aimed at the person rather than their opinion (i'm not talking about the girlfriend on this occassion ) It's hard to know what is meant by these little quips when you have never met before. If you are going to say things that cause offence be prepared to stand your ground or apologise and move on.
But that is what makes this forum enjoyable, i think that as said a line needs to be drawn here.
Well thank you Mr Righteous, i'll fcuk off now (To another thread anyhows) _________________ Speed Limits are Minimums and remember Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one

PM stands for "private message"; please keep it that way, dirty laundry and all that. Thanks
I'm sure you two gentlemen are big enough to both draw a line under this

Basically its about Valmoto Ltd (They won the TT with a Triumph Daytona 600 in 2003) In the April Issue Mat Oxley did an article stating that this racing outfit was caught cheating. they didn't and Jack Valentine (owner)has pointed out what this is all about. the editors reply is this.
"We're really sorry Jack. The details came from the ACU scrutineer, but we should have checked with you. Under normal circumstances we give the star letter winner some michelin Tyres. In this case perhaps you would prefer it if we stuffed them up our arse"
